Come now, if Rick had hit his son, you know Barbara would have killed him. There is now way she would have let that slide. And yes, Charlie just doesn't realize how others see him or their signals. One of those people who can spot what is happening to others but when it happens to him is totally oblivious usually. Hang in there, the story isn't over yet.
I'm glad you are enjoying the story. Remember sometimes the secrets we keep the best are the ones we keep from ourselves. Still have story left to tell but Barbara is just one of those people once you meet you want in your life.
Hey Stu, Who is the matchmaker here? Glad you are enjoy this story. Things have a way of working out in the end. Maybe not as one wanted but hey, isn't that life. Hang in there. Not a whole lot of story left to tell.
Hey, sometimes the truth really knocks you on your butt, Frosty. But you got what you have all been waiting for, just now how you expected it to happen. Give me a few days will you. I write and it seems it is up almost immediately.
Chapter 16 – Time for the Truth
Charlie took a deep breath before opening the door. As the door cracked open his mother flew in like hurricane, followed more cautiously by Rick Jr.
“What the hell happened? Mom, why are you here? Rick, please, tell me your father didn’t do that!” The words flew out of Charlie’s mouth before he could think or censor himself.
“Charlie, sit your ass down. We have a lot to fill you in on,” Barbara began withou
Cia, You point out a lot of the story. There are things I would love to comment on but going to have to wait just a bit more. Only thing I will say is Scott isn't the sort of man to just let things lie. Hang on to your hat, the story is starting its final wind up.
Show me anyone whose life goes smoothly and I'll show you a children's book of sanitized stories. Real life, and interesting stories have challenges. Just so happens Charlie's life isn't one that sails smoothly. However a lot of things are going to be straightened out very shortly. Hang in there.
Well like anything else Charlie's life just isn't smooth. Crafting now and yeah going to end up with a longer chapter due to all that has to happen. Glad you are enjoying it.
Friends Here on GA
They are an odd collection of people from all over the world
They are young and old, sweet and sarcastic, funny and strange
They welcome you without knowing you
With gentle words and jokes you begin a daily change
First there was Maria who read my poetry and commented
She offered out her hand and then a second pair of eyes
Then came Mark and Stu who were teasing each other
But when I started in on them it brought more than just sighs

Not sure what you mean as having the same voice. A writer might be distinctive for the way they tell a story or the fact that each time it is so different. Look at the authors you enjoy. What makes them something you like? Some it is the art of surprise, some it is character development, some it is the fun they infuse in their tales, others it is just an overall style. Once you know what you want, or what you are afraid you might be doing, then you can work on it. I find each story I start is different and new. The characters have to come to life and live in the world they inhabit. If I do that I think I am successful. Good luck.
