I think it is normal. You spend day in and day out with them. Sometimes you spend more time with the people you work with than your own family. In a sense they do become your second family, especially if you are working in a home situation like this.

I was super conscious of only referring to Pat as Pat. No pronouns or anything else. I also wanted a name that could be used for either a man or a woman. Pat worked. I was sure people would realize it long before the end, but it seems the story had the impact I was hoping for. Thanks for reading Cazpedroso.

How often does life really go where it should? I just wanted to do something different with this. Everyone who wrote had a death of a person. I thought the death of a dress was a bit less, but the story grew. Glad you liked and commented.

The bright sunlight cut through the dimness of the bedroom like a knife. If it hadn’t been for the smell of coffee drifting through the apartment I probably would have tried to roll over and forget the events that were due to happen today.
