Michael's painful past explains his personality. It explains his drinking problem. It doesn't focus on his fear of coming out so much, but lets the readers into his mindset and where he's coming from. It explains his hard exterior, why he's a 'shark' at work, he's a loner and didn't have much of a childhood...these are characteristics that have affected his life as an adult. Lana is a great character to work with. She is wise and has been a rebel for the LGBT community all her life (She rocks!!) Ya know, I wrote this chapter months before the SC ruling but it tied into the chapter perfectly! Thanks so much for reading, KC

Michael is 31 and Asher is 26. They are not perfect, but nobody is. I don't see them as being immature but the unknown of a new relationship. When you don't know someone yet, you don't know what to expect. You'r right about it being a lot of work to take care of someone else, especially after such a bad injury, but Asher is out of the woods, his injuries are no longer life threatening. (and Mother will be checking in on him, too....FYI ) I hope both Asher and Michael have evolved and keep the story fresh and interesting. Glad you're still reading. As awkward as it is...this situation has happened before in real life. We have had this as a 'what if' convo with our friends many times. LOL 'what if you were hit by a bus...who would get to your apartment first to throw all your stuff out before your mother get's there?' Thanks for reading!!

Thanks Sorgbarn, I'm feeling so much better now. Asher having a one-night-stand out of anger/revenge is really immature but he was upset. He thought his hopes of anything developing with Michael had been smashed but yet Michael comes back...causing a entirely new situation. Thanks for reading! Kc

Hmmmmmm, did Michael know? Or is he protesting because he's scared? With some people it doesn't become "real" until it's said out in the open. There is a lot more for these guys. I hope you are feeling better.

I'm so sorry to hear your bad news! I haven't lost a sibling, but I did lose my mother to colon/rectal cancer last year after a long hard 5 year battle. You are in my prayers! I hope that GA gives you a place to let your mind fill with wonderful fantasies that lift your spirits! Kc -

Maryann should have taken revenge on those 2 old bitties and projectile puked all over them for overfeeding her! Warning: giving a baby too much formula can result in hot milk vomited across chest, neck, and lap (running inside clothes) and if your trying to burp 'em then down your back! Very exciting! The bear had me on the edge of my seat. Living in the woods, we have only had to deal with 2 bears in our time...that can be very scary. Axel English is improving and I really thinks he wants X for his gift (BTW...plastic water bottles didn't come around until the late 60's -early 70's and water bottles not until the 90's.... more than likely in this time these guys would have a canteen) Great story, can't wait for more!

The anthologies are already set for 2013, but you can always put this into a suggestion for the themes for 2014. Here is a link to the 2013 suggestions: https://www.gayauthors.org/forums/topic/35436-2013-anthology-theme-suggestions/ They usually take theme suggestions in late summer/early fall. Or you can do a screenplay for your anthology submission That would be cool for the Pandora's Box theme!

Thanks Prince, I was wondering if anyone would say anything about Ms. Lana! she is great. When I wrote her, I kept seeing one of my childhood friend's mom! She would have loved Ms. Lana. You're right, Love is wonderful until someone tries to tarnish it with their personal judgment. Love is beautiful and shouldn't have conditions. Michael has a long road ahead of him, even with Asher by his side he will still have to face the world, which is different than when behind closed doors. We'll have to see if Michael is strong enough to admit that he is gay. Thanks for reading!! Kc
