Thank you little blue one! I re-wrote the last paragraph like a 100 times. When I read this to my hubby, he said it gave him chills. I said, that's it, I'm posting it as it is. No more changes Glad you like it, Sly. Thanks for all of your encouragement! I love having readers that get so excited about my stories, it's awesome!! Kc

Thank Richard. I was really worried about the flow on this one. I was praying that I didn't miss the target, but it looks like the readers really enjoyed it. I'm glad you did too Kc

Hey JC, don't compare yourself with other writers. You need to focus on your talent. I am ((cough-cough)) twice your age, jeeez did I really just say that?? I have learned so much over the years. These last 3-5 years, my writing has been on a whole different level then in my youth. I read so many great writers and it inspires me to work harder. I also have an awesome friend who beta and edits for me. He's also a walking encyclopedia He helps me slay plot bunnies and work out problems. The best thing is he's not afraid to call bullshit when I go way off track. Keep writing, my friend, and learn from every new story you create! KC

Thanks JoAnn! This chapter really kicked me. I re-wrote it several times trying to get it perfect. Michael's pain, his anguish over his father, how the public will view his and Asher's relationship...it was difficult to tie it all together. I'm so happy that the readers really enjoyed this one. Thanks for all your encouragement! Kc

Thanks Ieshwar, we finally get to see the man behind the mask. Michael had years to bury his pain, now he will have to face it. Michael will also have to choose. It's easy to be with Asher when they are alone or with friends but how is he going to face the world?? good point!! Kc

Yes, very painful memories from Michael's past. Such a tragic event for a young man to suffer. It's evident in how he acts and views the world. Asher comes from such a different background, it will be interesting to see how these guys go from here. Thanks for stopping by to read. KC

This was a big chapter for Michael. We got to see him react to someone at work knowing he's gay and also see how it affected him after meeting Asher in a public place. Michael's drinking has been a crutch, let's see how he faces it now. Thanks so much for reading, Ninecila! KC

Thanks Charlie! I re-wrote this chapter soooo many times. It didn't flow well and I wasn't happy with it so I kept at it again and again. The last time I read it out loud to my hubby, he said it gave him chills...so I quickly posted it without making any more changes. I'm glad that it was a hit Thanks so much!! KC

It was time we learned more about Michael. I hope readers understand his background and understand why he acts the way he does, but there is still a lot more to come. Glad you like it KC

I am a hopeless romantic at heart I wanted to introduce small bits of information about Michael as the story went along. It was time for us to see his past and find out who he really is. I'm glad you like it. I love flawed characters, they feel more real than someone who is soooo totally perfect. Thanks for reading, KC

I can't believe you left me a review!! At first I was worried that I had screwed the chapter up and you popped in to smack me, LOL As you can tell I did several re-writes taking your advice. I think the chapter turned out great. I couldn't do it without you! Your encouragement means so much Thanks!! KC

Thanks Daithi, yeah Michael had a difficult childhood. Now we get to see how they work it out since Asher's childhood was very different from Michael's. I'm so glad you like it. Thanks for reading! KC

The telephone rang at the same time Michael’s fingers wrapped around the doorknob. He quickly snatched his hand back and softly chuckled, “Stop being so jumpy,” he muttered to himself, then pushed the door open. A pile of messages sat on his desk. They were sorted into two stacks. He scanned the high priority messages before setting the other ones to the side. They could wait, or could be passed off to someone else in his department. With the piles divided, the telephone suddenly rang agai

Happy Birthday Sly!!!!!

I just want to make sure I didn't miss something. The baby's mom was named Maryanne and the baby will also be named Maryanne, too? Want to make sure I keep it clear in my mind. I love that the baby only wants to be held by the guys. Smart girl getting the boys wrapped around her little finger Great story but really heartbreakingly sad. It was one of the toughest things we had to decide after getting JJ, who would we name as her guardian if something happened to us. Something you pray never happens but need to protect your little ones at all cost. Can't wait for more!!

Thanks for checking out the story Sorgbar! I totally understand, I'm the same way. I'm waiting for several stories to finish up so I can read them in one shot. I'm such a bitch when I have to wait on new chapter postings, It makes me crazy, LOL I knew for this story that 1st person POV was a no-go. I've tried to keep it Asher's POV but omniscient still drifts in (it's one of my worst habbits.) I limited Michael's POV but I really tried for a smooth transition. I hope it was successful Asher will not be having sick/deathbed flashbacks of Allison, I promise! I could not imagine losing one of my siblings and now that our mom and grandparents are gone we are even closer...so no, I'm not going there! Thanks for checking it out. New chapter every Monday if you want to drop back by Kc

Hehe...I can't stop giggling! Thanks for the hand job...oops I mean hand joke! Thanks for reading, Richard. It means a lot to me! Kc

LOL See I knew Michael would start to win some readers over. He's not perfect but he's such a great character. These guys aren't ready for sleeping together(as in sleep-sleep) It's going to make for some tense times in the near future, LOL Thanks for reading!! KC
-
Thanks Breeze, oh more is coming. We are going to learn more about Michael and get to see him interact in the real world. It can be jading in the privacy of home and circle of family/friends...we'll get to see if he can handle the real world, KC

Thanks Lisa, I'm feeling soooo much better. I actually feel like a person again, LOL Workers comp may or maynot cover being shot, it is a case by case and state by state claim. I did research this point and spoke to a friend who works in insurance. Since it is a privately owned business and the shooting is not work related (aka he wasn't a cop or security guard and hurt in the scope of his duty) then the owner could appeal the claim and the victim would have to pay or use his personal insurance (if he has any) Great qustion! Im gonna steal this one too for the story forum thanks so much, KC
-
Hey! Have you been hacking my computer? LOL the next chapter will show a lot more of Michael. His work and his past too. Asher might be testing him a little but he is serious about Michael having control issues and wondering if he's in lust vs love....soooo much more to come!! Thanks for reading, KC
-
Hehe, thanks, I get blamed sometimes for writing how I talk(not great for an east-coast bumpkin ) so I hope the dialog wasn't too bad I think taking it slow will be good for both these guys, but they might have some fun along the way! KC
-
Awwww thanks Wolfie!! These guys are not going to have a lot going on, as good as it sounds to have them fall in bed, would you really want them to have a quick romp? I tried not to go overboard on the medical bills/health insurance/ workers comp.....but yes it is a huge deal. No univeral insurance in the US and those of us who have coverage can still pay a lot. I was just in the hospital, when I showed up at registration the morning of surgery they wanted their $3,000.00 they estimated as my out-of-pocket max upfront! Thank god for a few taps on my phone moved money from my savings to my checking and I put it on my bank card. This is a great question, thou, so I'm going to continue this in my story forum if you have any other questions! Thanks for reading, KC
-
Thanks so much Daithi, things are getting hot but both of them have some demons to work out. US doesn't universal healthcare (estimated 40+ million don't have any kind of medical insurance at all) but that is a really good point! I think I'm gonna steal a few of these points to continue the discussion in my forum Thanks for reading. If I don't answer all the insurance/WC stuff and you still have questions check out the thread KC

Thanks JoAnn, yes Michael is in lust for Asher but he's also scared a little too. We'll see if he does the right thing or blows it. Thanks for your encouragment. As I get deeper and deeper in this story I hope I don't screw it up ((cross fingers)) Thanks again! KC
