  1. OK, just to be clear, I'm not a hell-bent-fundy preacher, I just play one in CJ's story! Also, I don't work for the IRS, I just have friends who do, and no matter how much I blustered, I couldn't really get them to open up an investigation without some kind of actual proof. Having said that, far too many people have come to believe they are safe in anono-land when nothing is further from the truth. If somebody wants to find you and has the mean$$$ to make it happen, you will tagged in a heart beat. :ranger: 'nough said...
  2. Nope, nope, that only applies to people... Since you drug me into this, I say that it is actually easier than the whole
  3. Didn
  4. The good news is that it is back in CJ's mailbox. I know he had some post-send changes so it may yet take a few days to make an appearance. And of course with CJ changing things AFTER its been to Beta Reader and Editor means there should be some fun goofs. Watch for the extra hoove prints!
  5. OK, talk about slow. I saw the title, did a pass through 13, went on to other things, but it wasn
  6. Or masks his true intent
  7. Ummm, haven't we had the 'fade to sex' situation occur a coupla times already? Now, see - that makes it sound like I wrote myself into the story... nothing could be further from the truth and I want it on record that I asked you to change the name and you deferred so I caved because I was weak from my first reading of DK
  8. I, too, enjoyed the 'deer'. On my first pass, I was reading intently, hunched over the keyboard and then sat back and had a belly-laugh when the truth was revealed. Well done, CJ!
  9. I think that those who were turned off may come back as the story develops and the buzz gets back to them to try the story again. I can't count the number of first-time or 'i dont usually read this but' posts in DK's forum. Word-of-mouth via post, pm or email about a good story will draw in readers every time! :king:
  10. The thing I'm liking most about
  11. Before you thought I'd just bring down the wrath of GOD on you. Now you know I can do much worse! Better be nice to your editor...
  12. The IRS called, you are being audited. You didn't know that my Ex was an IRS auditor and I still have friends there...
  13. I still like my own disclaimer the best: Now you just have to find the story it appears at the top of...
  14. Oh, look
  15. To be fair, CJ is no harder than any of the other authors I work with. The need for "quiet time" is my own, not related to any difficulty of their writing. I just know how I work best. I think I've posted my process elsewhere but here is how I find works best for me: I need a stretch of uninterrupted time to review the story so I can hold the storyline in my head and then read the new chapter to keep the continuity flowing. I do minimal editing in this first read - it
  16. Has anybody counted the number of posts that CJ asserts he is a lurker? My guess is that it exceeds my total number of posts! Finally have some quiet time so I'm off to work on chapter 11.
  17. CJ is such a tease...
  18. Okay, this is frustrating... I'm not chiming in on the motivation 9people would think I have an unfair advantage anyway), I'm just complaining that chapter 11 is in my mailbox and I have no time to open/read it! Where is the weekend when you need it!
  19. Just one minor addition to the beginning of that phrase: HONEST
  20. Mating with sheep now, are you?
  21. ...but then there would be no more goats!?!
  22. It would only be too XXX rated if you posted a picture of goats mating.
  23. I tell you what! You get busy for a week and there are 4 pages of stuff to read and post about! Here's my catch-up post: Or just use the Replace feature in Word and search for ^p^p to be replaced with ^p to kill those blank paragraphs. Oh, Graeme, you forgot this was CJ
  24. Yet another good community member who clearly sees the handwriting on the wall or more precisely, goatwriting on the forum! In those immortal words: Me thinks thou doth protest too much!
  25. I've discovered the secret to the super-high post count for CJ, the dedicated lurker: He's CLONED! (see post here: CJ admits he is cloned!) so there is a dedicated lurker AND a dedicated poster! ...and now he's even advertising his own BLOG! Lurker, my A**!
