  1. What beautiful characters. I was so glad for your notification, wouldn't want to miss any of this.

    Step 12

Been there but rescued. You wrote it well.
  3. AMEN! I have enjoyed your previous work. Would really like to hear more about these two.

    Chapter 1

Beautiful. I was searching for a vampire story a friend recommended, saw this, andstarted reading. My mother died in 1949 when I was 20. She was sick for as far back as I could remember, but she always had smiles for me. Not a day goes by that she doesn't pass through my thoughts, sometimes briefly, other times long good memories. Thank you for sharing something so dear and personal.

    Chapter 12

I'm not much into football but that game description was great. The thought occured that maybe you did broadcast color in a previous life?

    Chapter 6

Mark, You couldn't have done this chapter any other way or any better. The last line is perfect and says it all. We understand their loss. I am so proud of Brad for doing exactly what Robbie told him to do. Thanks
  7. I won't try to review. I am intrigued and looking forward to more. However, I am puzzled by Ricky's review. Three words spring to mind. Judgement, sanctimony, guilt?

    Chapter 15

This was a delightful read. In a perfect world we would have you rewriting all of English history.

    Chapter 37

A brilliant chapter that points up what you have done since the beginning of Academic Predator, this family is bound together by love. In all these crises I find myself wishing for Tonto, her wisdom. Stef is a pretty good replacement. Maybe put him in old-lady drag?

    Chapter 34

I have really warmed to Matt in the last several chapters. I guess that means I like him and don't want him hurt. But, let's see now. Wade's southern aristocratic roots respond to Alex like a moth to the flame. Alex is all wrapped up in English aristocracy and heredity, and let us not forget that his family's financial position is precarious and Wade is VERY rich as is Matt's family. After roping in the rich American he makes the calculated move of not opposing the continued friendship of Matt and Wade. We wouldn't want to risk upsetting the balance of the two families, the two possible marks in his game. To me he is just a pretty little con-man and phony/

    Righteous Echo

I have been wallowing in this wonderful story since the beginning, from when Shay went into hibernation. My day brightens immediately when I spot a new post. My next curiosity to have satisfied is what happens when Yugan joins the heroes? What can one say but Thank You for the marvelous read.

    Chapter 1

My favorites didn't post today so took a chance on this. SO glad I did. Caring aliens, not monsters. Aliens with a conscience. Aliens with liberal politics. I hope I'm not reading more into this than you intend. Just so fed up with most of what is being called science fiction today. PLUS we have the makings of a beautiful inter-galactic love affair. You make sense to this earthling and I will eagerly await more. In the meantime I will investigate some of your other work in the archive. Thanks, Johnny

    Chapter 11

Oh, I do like the way you work. I even grin at the cliffhangers because I know another chapter will follow soon. I wish the bureaucrats could be more trusting, but of course, that would defeat the story. AND I have no idea what my reactions would be if confronted by Gar. Great story and hope you continue to make hash of the government types.

    Chapter 10

Another revealing chapter. One minor observation: Shaker Heights is no longer totally populated by snobs, only about fifty percent.

    Epilogue

Just a sincere big thank you.. It ranks right up close to Circumnavigation, but I don't think anything can rival Trevor's single-handed battle against the Indian Ocean. Now I'll just sit back and patiently wait for the next epic.

    Chapter 5

This family can battle, fight, almost destroy each other, go from crisis to crisis, and every once in a while you give us a chapter like this that shows us the base of love that holds them all together. AND as usual I had my misty moment remembering when Brad met Robbie. Thanks

    Convergence

Exciting stuff, CJ. Getting two new chapters a day helps to mitigate the cliffhangers which are beginning to rival those of Circumnavigation.

    I See

I picked this up because I've liked your other work. BUT, this spoiled brat needs to grow up, maybe a spanking would help. I'll give it a couple more chapters but that's it.

    Wedding Bells

I'm not going to quibble about a thing. Just so glad you're back and so quickly. I thought cliffhangers always came at the end of the chapter, but you have me hooked with the General's visit to the retired recording exec. Glad to see our principles are healthy and happy. Thanks
  20. Mark, to out-Tolstoy Tolstoy in volume is an achievement in itself, but to fill all the words with the love and care you do is simply awe inspiring. I look forward to more of both series, but will understand if there is some R & R in your schedule. I remain your grateful, humble fan.

    Chapter 8

I have been laughing privately through the first seven chapters, but this one finally did it. They picked up the bags of Emma and headed for the elevator. Here I am all alone in front of my computer, laughing hysterically about 'bags of Emma'. I don't know if that was your intention, I hope I didn't offend you, but, half-seriously, I'm a little concerned about what it says about me. Thanks for the great read. One of the best and funniest Vamp stories yet.

    Epilogue

A perfect epilogue for this exciting story. So many wonderful young people and some pretty impressive adults. Your royal cliffhanger title is still intact, BUT in my opinion, Circumnavigation is your crowning achievement thus far. Thanks for the great read and I am glad there is a sequel.

    Chapter 4.2

Another fine chapter. Tar's move in claiming dominance in human form was brilliant. They have reached some kind of equality. complete acceptance may be slow but it is coming. Kurt's natural way of working with the kids proves the basic goodness we knew was there. Thanks
  24. First thought when seeing your title was of The Thomas Crown Affair, a fil m which you are probably too young to remember. It starred Steve McQueen who will always live long in my memory. But on to why we're here....You have made a nice start. I particularly like the way the poor are treated with care and respect. So unlike most medieval tales. I await more with anticipation.

    Chapter 17

And I've always insisted that C.James is the king of the cliffhangers. Great chapter, I almost feel like I've been bitten. Thanks
