!!HAPPY BIRTHDAY DARLING!! I wish you all the best! :*
-
Happy birthday Brian ^^

I personally wouldn't mind dating someone with braces, but you have to wonder... Just how much do they limit certain activities one can perform with their mouth?
-
It may be a dumb question, but I kind of wonder. I've only ever seen a few couples where one of them wears dental braces. So I'm wondering, would you guys date someone with braces? If yes, why - if no, why not.

Happy birthday Foopy ^^

Can I just add that, in now way do I see you as naive TRO I said that the chat subject was naive and fun, not serious and hurtful. 'Tis all. And I don't think anyone here wants you to shut up. All the people here are so very welcoming and friendly (though some have skills with guns and bows which frighten me a tad ), but somehow you just started off on the wrong foot. Give them - give us - another chance?

In the week or so I've been a member here, I've spent most of my time exactly in that chat room and I've got to tell you, I've not seen anyone act out against anyone. In fact, I've not seen so much as a difference of opinions. I make jokes all the time, based on gender, age, orientation - hell, anything! - sometimes they're funny, sometimes I go to far. But it's comedy, and if you can't joke about everything then you're quite humorless, in my honest opinion. AND, I can take a joke too. You have to note the difference here, though: GAs is not a hookup site. So if someone mentions someone else's age, it has nothing to do with the elder party in the convo being dissed. It's just fun. I've met a few guys here old enough to be my father and they're great people with as much fun and energy in them as someone who's still a teenager. Besides; we're not here to date one another, we're here to socialize and enjoy our mutual love of writing and reading. Even if that wasn't so, what does it matter if someone's fat or ugly, or has bucked teeth or an acne problem or whatever? It tells nothing of the person beneath. I'm sorry TRO, but the way I see it, in trying to protect the right values (and the right values you truly support), you've not seen beyond the naivety and fun nature of the exchange and instead saw something that wasn't there. Peace.

Ok, so you've started your story. The first few pages went along well and you've written exactly what you wanted and it turned out exactly how you wanted. Then, all of a sudden, you're a tad lost as to where to go from there so you figure "Alright, I've done the setup so maybe now it's time for a bit of action." But as you continue writing, there's this odd feeling at the bottom of your heart that the words your putting to paper just aren't right, but you go through it nonetheless. And then you're stuck completely. You're not satisfied with the second half of what you've written and to make matters worse, you're even more confused now as to how to continue the story than you were before, so you keep rummaging ideas through your head until, finally, you realize that you went into the wrong direction and have just now gotten the idea you were looking for days ago. So obviously, now you have to go back, crumple and toss those pesky pages you've put the effort to write into the bin and do it all over. In part, you're happy because you know that the end result will be better but then again, you're freakin' angry because now you have to do it all over again and you're about an inch from losing your motivation and just falling into lethargy. Has this ever happened to anyone? What do you do to cope or keep yourself motivated about the story?

Oh neat! I've bookmarked it - you never know when it might be useful.

Hey! Podga, that isn't true! I'm sweet and cuddly and I ride rainbows instead of buses every day! Seriously, though; I'm not as sedate as my name implies but I'm not nearly as nasty as some make me out to be *cough* Podga *cough* To answer your questions, I both read and write. Unfortunately, at this particular moment, I'm sort of pressed with time and I can't really sit down to do either properly. I haven't read GA stories for a while though, but I've been reading a few books; as far as GA goes, I'm definitely here to socialize, because this is a great community. Right now, I'm focusing my spare time on writing, though I can't seem to get more than a page or two out at a time. Steady progress, I suppose. What do I like to read? Hmm *ponders* Well, I mostly like to read fantasy or sci fi - anything that will get me away from the monotony of everyday life, really. But I do enjoy other genres of writing as well, especially if they're well written or if I can somehow relate to the character(s). So, I'll pretty much read anything if I like it, from a thriller to a romance novel. As far as writing goes, for the most part I think I'll be focusing on fantasy and science fiction, though. Right now, I'm working on a vampire story which I've always envisioned as a series. Therefore, I give a big hello to Nephylim; everyone's told me you're the vamp authority around here. So hai! To tell you the truth, when I tell people I'm writing about vampires, I feel a bit cheesy. No offense to anyone who enjoys the series, but it's my opinion that Twilight has managed to ruin vampires for the rest of us. To make things clear: my (hopefully) soon to come work has nothing to do with Twilight, I've drawn no inspiration from it and I've not even seen the movies or read the books. I do draw some inspiration from other sources - video games, comics, books and movies revolving around vampires - but I'm trying to stay completely original, defining my own world with its laws and mechanics, although I'm also trying to pay homage in subtle ways to some of the sources that inspired me. Neph, I haven't read any of your work so far, but I really want to rectify that. It would be an honor though if we could meet up on chat sometime and have a vamp to vamp author talk. Anyhow, thanks everyone for the warm welcome *hugs all around* PS: I hope you enjoyed my wall of text; I am notorious for them xD

What movies creep you out every time you watch them?
Tranquility replied to Cyhort's topic in The Lounge
How about some freaky French horror films, like Martyrs or Haute Tension? Those have to be two of the most diturbing films I've ever seen; just thinking about them makes me feel uneasy. Then, there's A Serbian Film - pure shock horror. When A Stranger Calls is an all time creepy movie, for sure. I think it draws mostly on the fact that it's actually a plausible situation. Another one (more or less) is Funny Games. The original is better, naturally, in comparison to the Hollywood rendition. Another one that freaks me out is Drag Me to Hell; that demon thing is just way too scary! -
Seriously? Did no one mention the long anticipated release of Guild Wars 2, like one of the MMORPGs evaaah?

Now that's what I'm talkin' bout!

I've seen First Class last week. I love the X-men films, but to be honest the ones Singer did were the best. I wasn't all that smitten by First Class. Though, yeah, I completely agree - some Professor X and Magnetto romance would go very nicely In fact, at moments, I did get this strange feel like there's something more going on between them

I was going for a Zen effect with the name, not seeming like I had a leash on! Though, a little bit of light bondage is very arousing But anyway, I once met a very un-bottom like guy - you know, all manly, completely straight looking and acting, all muscled and stuff - turned out he was an exclusive bottom. I also met a guy who was totally un-top like and he was actually a top. It's complicated I guess, but I stand firmly that versatility is the best way to go
