  1. Happy birthday to both of you and many, many more.
  2. He is the boss, kiddo. I guess I just miss understood. I should have sent a pm instead of posting like this anyway. Hugs Mike
  3. Ok Ethan, I will check them out and let you know what i think. Now, there is nothing wrong with this reply thread being posted here in the cafe. However, the chapters themselves should have been posted in the library. Now I need to go check them out and I will let you know what I think
  4. I too love happy endings. However, there are a few stories that do not have happy endings that I do still enjoy and feel that it was worth while reading. But, they must leave you with at least a sense of hope. I use to be an avid fan of Stephen King until I read "it" that was the last book of his I read until he did his book "On Writing" which I have in both hard copy and audio. By reading that book I came to understand why I became so down on his books. He clearly states in that he writes purley for the horror, that is what he enjoies. I did read "Dreamcacthers" when it came out and was very relived that there was that "sense of hope" in it. One more example of a book that has a bad ending, but yet it still has a "sense of hope" would be "Pay it Forward". I absolutely hated the ending. Will I read it again? Oh yes, I will.
  5. This really is a hard question to answer. I really belive the answer is both yes and no. Not everyone is created equal and unforturnatley some do have weak self control. I will never forget a couple of years ago I was having a disscussion about Fantasy writing with a Christain lady that I think of the world of. She is very down to earth and not very judgemental at all. She was telling me that her Grand Daughter was a avid fan of "Anne McCfrrey". The Grandmother had even read a few of her books and loved them. The problem was, the Grand Daugther actually belived that "Pern" was a real place. The Grand Daughther was 20 years old at that time. Here then is where the problem lies, some people belive that what ever they read is true. It does not matter weather it is fiction or non-fiction (and belive me, I do not think that all non-fiction is all that factual). However, I do not think that a author should be held accountable for a fictional story of any type. I think that 98% of all people that read them realize that they are just stories. Stories for enjoyment Stories to make you think Now as to being an author of these stories. You can not blame yourself if someone does something bad after reading one of your stories. Now I will qualify that a bit, if you have a reader respond to you saying that he was going to go out and do some really bad shit, and you repled telling him to go ahead and do it. Well then, I do belive that you done a wrong in that case. We all have fantasies and they are very diverse, and there is nothing wrong with that as long as they remain fantasies, or are totally between consenting parteners. But as to my feelings on the question, Yes there is always that small percentage that will belive whatever they read and perform there actions based on that.
  6. Actually it is, we are always looking for new authors. However, we normally post these in the Cafe. As to Grasshopper, he is an excellent writer. In fact I stayed up till 3 a.m. this morning re-reading his "Just hit send" story. I did not even notice the new chapter of "Dreamchasers", bet you can guess where I am headed after I post this reply......... For such a young person he seems to have wisdom way beyound his years. Considering his youth and ability, I would be willing to bet, that we will be reading his National Best Sellers within a few years.
  7. Sure will Ethan. Keep your spirits up.

  23. You know I made a post about politics and after words I felt so bad about starting it. It really was not a polictacal post, but it did turn into it. I did not mean for that to happen. OK, Yes I am a big R. But that reallly does not have anything to do with this post or what I am asking of all of you. I want you all to watch your canidates, look at what they really belive in. Study the person that you want to vote for. Find the real person. That is what you need to think about. I am so tired of hearing "My union says this is the best person" I say why? Well they say he is right! "My teacher says" This I hate more than anything. Teachers should teach us to think, not try to infulence our politcal beliefs. We at this point have free speech. I just want to ask each and every one of you to research the person you have deceided to vote for. Don't just acept someone elses's word. Find out what these folks stand for. Watch the debates! Get involved guys, but not just because my "Teacher said" or my ""Advisor said" All I am asking is look and reasearch a bit before you vote. Think for yourselves. VOTE FOR YOURSELVES!!!! WHAT YOU BELIVE IN, NOT WHAT SOMEONE ELSE BELIVES IN.
  24. The last survey I saw was 1 in 10, But hey I really like 1 in 4 much better.
