    Chapter 9

I do feel bad about the gaps in posting, but at this point I'm posting them as I finish them and get them edited. Just been a bit hectic around here. Thanks for hanging in there.

    Chapter 9

Charlie's definitely going to have a different journey discovering his powers...he doesn't have a Damon or a Benji or Alex around right now to tell him what's going on...

The Chosen By Andrew Todd Chapter 9 “I thought you knew what you were doing?” Alex teased Dyson when the computer again failed to boot up. “Do you want to try?” Dyson asked sarcastically. Dave laughed. “Alex, there’s a difference between building these things and programming them,” he explained. “That’s a big reason that I got a job at the store. I’m a hacker, like I suspect Dyson is.” Dyson grinned and nodded. “I could program, and did, and make these things sing as long as they were t

    Chapter 7

I've had more than a few request to add to this particular story over the last month or so. Not entirely sure if it will happen, as at the moment, I have a hard enough time focusing on one story. Some day I may find myself back in this particular world.

    Chapter 8

Thanks. Initially, Jesse and Dylan were just supposed to be a little 'tip of the hat' to my 'Riding Lessons' readers...but they keep sticking around.

    Chapter 8

Thanks. One of these days I'll probably do this the 'normal' way and plan it out...but I always seem to start by thinking I just 'need' these few characters and then the rest just come along and say 'what about us?'. Quite honestly, Dave and Stevie came out of nowhere, but as I was writing them, their whole stories came together. If I had the time, I could probably do 'Interludes' on them like I did in 'Riding Lessons'.
  7. I resisted getting a smartphone forever. I wasn't going to be one of 'those' people. Six years later, just upgraded for the third time and you can pry it from my cold dead hands. Can't live without it.

    Chapter 8

The Chosen By Andrew Todd Chapter 8 Charlie sighed with contentment. His dreams were filled with images of Kris: beautiful, blond, muscular, smiling, shy Kris. All night long he slept peacefully having dream after dream starring his roommate. In his last dream, Kris came up behind him and wrapped Charlie in his strong arms. He nuzzled Charlie’s neck. Charlie reached behind him and moved his slim fingers down Kris’s tight abs and felt the band of his briefs. Blood pounded in his head and
  12. I've always been a 'binge' reader. I'll go months, or even years, without reading a good book and then I'll go on a tear and just devour a number of them. Right now, things are so crazy, I'm in a dry spell. When I have a few minutes I'm working on 'The Fault In Our Stars' trying to finish it before the movie. I'm anal like that, I have to read it before I see how bad they mess it up on screen. When i was a kid (many, many...MANY moons ago) I was the biggest Stephen King addict, but I haven't read him in a long time...though I do have 'Doctor Sleep' on my kindle and hope to re-read 'The Shining' first and then the new book. For the last ten years or so, my default 'safety blanket' book has been 'A Density of Souls' Christopher Rice's first book. I've read it over and over so many times since it was first published. One of my favorites.

    Chapter 7

    Well, opposites do attract.

    Chapter 7

It was my mistake in breaking my 'rule' about not posting until I was sure I'd be able to make my way through the story, but when I started I was literally flying through the first five chapters. Then the last month happened...it's been a hectic one to say the least, but this weekend was rather productive and I have things worked out in my head for the next few, so hopefully the wait for eight won't be quite as long.

Thanks. I'm finally getting the specifics of the first meeting worked out in my head...which is always the first step in my crazy little world...

    Chapter 7

The Chosen By Andrew Todd Chapter 7 Benji and Oliver had been riding the trail through the hills surrounding the Kennet property for over an hour. It was the first time they had taken Jester out of the confines of the arena and Oliver was pleased with the young stallion’s behavior. “He’s doing so well.” Oliver grinned and he patted the horse’s neck. Benji nodded. “I can’t believe that’s the same horse that Dale had delivered two weeks ago. I thought for sure he’d be a pasture ornament.
  18. Never been a huge fan of Linklater, but I was fascinated hearing about this movie and time involved in making it and the trailer really put it into my 'must see' list for this summer.
  19. 'Kombat Kids' has long been one of my favorite stories. I, as many others have said, normally eschew military and war themed stories, but something about this one drew me in from the start. His characters both adults and kids and his focus on the camaraderie, friendship and support that comes with belonging to a military-like give this story it's power. At one point, Ghost Ryder and Jamie Haze had started a 'Kombat Kids'/'Somerset Farm' cross-over that promised a lot of potential given the similarities of the stories, but it was abandoned and now will never be finished. Rest In Peace, Ghost Ryder 15. Thank you for the legacy and memories you have left behind.
  20. Hey All-- I started posting my new story 'The Chosen' this past weekend. My original plan was to do my usual one chapter a week thing, but being sick in bed and being bored, I ended up posting all six chapters I had prepared. I've taken a step into the paranormal with this story. While I've always been a fan of science fiction/fantasy/comic book type stories this (and it's prologue 'Empath's Kiss') is my first attempts at the genre. I've gotten a lot of 'I usually don't like this stuff, but...' feedback which is cool, but I'd love to here from people who are fans of the genre to get their reaction to the story as well. I'll also try to answer any questions...without giving anything away. 'The Chosen' can be found here: [sharedmedia=stories:stories:4100] It's prelude, 'Empath's Kiss' here: [sharedmedia=stories:stories:3990] Thanks.

    Chapter 6

The Chosen By Andrew Todd Chapter 6 “Welcome to the Lancaster Academy,” Dylan said offering Kris his hand. “Thank you,” Kris replied shaking Dylan’s hand and then Jesse’s. “Dylan and Jesse graduated last year,” Charlie explained. “But they decided to take a gap year and work at the school.” “Gap year?” Jesse nodded. “It’s not a common thing in the states, but more so abroad. After secondary school, kids take a year or so to work or travel and try to find themselves and explore before

    Chapter 5

The Chosen By Andrew Todd Chapter 5 “Prophecy?” Damon asked. “What the hell are you talking about? Who the hell are you and what do you want?” “Hey, Day, the boys are home, you ready for dinner?” Kai asked as he came into the waiting room. “Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t see a car, I figured you didn’t have any patients.” “I’m not a patient, Mr. Martin,” Dyson said. “How do you know my name?” Kai asked suspiciously. “Apparently, this kid knows a lot about us,” Damon said. “Look, I know you

The Chosen By Andrew Todd Chapter 4 “Director, Turner is on line two for you.” “Thank you, Madeleine.” He punched the line and hit the speaker phone. “Turner, tell me you’ve located the boy.” “No, sir, we haven’t.” “So in the space of forty-eight hours, you’ve killed the librarian without getting so much as one bit of information from him about The Chosen and you can’t find one sixteen-year-old boy?” “Sir, he did put Masters in the hospital.” “Turner, obviously he’s been trained, b

My editor keeps trying to help my British English...but I am probably hopeless since most of what I know I learned from 'Doctor Who' and English college kids spending a semester over here.

    Chapter 3

The Chosen By Andrew Todd Chapter 3 “Detoxed?” Alex asked. “What the hell are you talking about?” “Benji, come in and sit down, you look tired,” Damon said leading his son into the kitchen and seating him at the breakfast counter. “Now, what happened?” “Ok, well, first, after school, I ran Oliver to his house so he could change into his riding clothes. His mom was there. She was drunk…very. Oliver was apologetic and explained that she had had a hard time getting pregnant and carrying th
