  1. So, what's your tree like? When do you/did you put it up? And what's on it? Any favourite, special decorations?
  2. Thank you. Thank you very much. My characters tend to take over my mind, and in contrary to popular belief, being an empath is a lot more hard work than it seems - I can never sit through a war documentary without crying. I love a good HEA, and they do exist in real life, so it's fair. I'm so glad you've enjoyed Kieran's company, even if he is an unlike-able dick at the start. I promise I never plan to stop writing. Thank you.

  5. A lurker steps out of the shadows.... Welcome! And welcome to semi-adulthood too, a scary (and expensive) time my friend, but very rewarding. I'm sure we'll all enjoy hearing of your new adventures now you can share them.
  6. I am eternally thankful not to have lost anyone in my personal life this year, especially with the passing of so many great actors/musicians/radio personalities (Terry Wogan will mean next to nothing to you guys on the other side of the ocean, but I grew up hearing the man every single weekday since before I can remember). On the other hand, there are lots of good people still here, and whilst a dead man's name is still spoken, he is not really gone. 2016 wasn't all bad.
  7. See my review reply to Puppiull: As for the awkward and disconcerting stuff - yeah, generally it just is. you have to be really into the feral thing for those emotions not to rise to the fore.
  8. Unfortunately not. For a couple of weeks the Sunday posted chapters got missed off the Weekly Wrap Up, so I figured I’d change to Saturday just to secure our listing, that's all. You're not the first person I've made cry today. I doubt you'll be the last!

Thank you. He could, but he's in Mooseonee - where exactly is he going to run away to? Ain't nothing out there on the ice.

yes, he did try and coerce Emmett. Just goes to prove commands aren't always the way forwards.

Shifters lie, all the time, to everyone in their lives. Small lies, big lies, all sorts of lies. And they have to, it's easy, it's essential, and it keeps them safe. So for Emmett to be truthful, really wholly truthful with something so important as his heart, that's hard, harder than it is for us. He has a lot more to lose. Apart from Huan-Yu (and that was fluke), Jian is the only person Emmett's not related to he has ever been able to be honest with. He only has one person filling all his needs - Jian is friendship, adoration, lust, love, companionship, the guy he can laugh with, cook with, and talk with without lying constantly under the surface. To lose that would be the end of the world in Emmett's eyes - no wonder the boy is careful.

well, it will end eventually, but not for a good long while. I think the polar bear will come around, also eventually. Thanks for the review Petey

“Jian?” Emmett put his head around the open doorway to the lounge, looking for the little tiger. “Huh…” There was no one there. Kateri had gone out to the store, and Logan and his father, feeling land-sick from so many straight days away from their boats, had gone out to fish. They would probably bring another shipment back for the train which was up and running again after Christmas. Emmett had expected to find his friend curled up on the couch, tucked into his striped hoodie with his cute litt
  17. Maybe so. Boy's got a temper on him though...
  18. I prefer not to re-read. If a concept keeps on bugging me, I like to start again with a blank document as though I'm writing it for the first time. Then after the initial rush is over, I go back re-read the old document and compare the two. Sometimes the initial rush doesn't fade for a good long while and then when I read the old thing, I discover if I's re-read first, I would have written something completely different. A Wolf And His Man was an old concept I came back to. The original sketch was only a couple hundred words, and I didn't re-read it until I had written five full chapters of what got posted here. I'm glad of that fact.
  19. It's never safe in the innermost circle of hell. Lahja will have to go soul collecting, but he'll find his own way. After all, he's a demon now, and this is the bread and butter of their existence. You don't have to a broken heart to go reaping!

    Chapter 11

Every demon does, at least, all the ones from the innermost circle have to. Lahja's gotta do a lot of big jumps, hasn't he?
