I'm Back Now

"I went to get paint, and I went to that big bookshop, y'know, Saga Books. And they had coffee and places to sit, and I thought what we really needed was to be more like them..."

Yes, I'm back.
Yes, it's really me.
Yes, I wrote something little, and I though I'd share. Ma thought it was a good idea, but that's not the only reason.

Hello,
It's been a while, how are y'all? I missed you guys - you know who you are.
So, I'm a parent now. Here are the facts you get, these and no others. He's ten months old, his birthday is in October, you can call him Goblin, or Goblin Boy, we do. He is the best thing that has ever happened to us. By miles. I love him more than I ever thought possible.

A lot has changed since I've been away, everything and nothing in a way. I have less time than I thought I would, turns out little Goblin's take up a lot of each and every day. I had to give up my horse, Copper and his field-mate have been loaned to a lovely pair of girls who adore them. I miss it, but it wasn't really my choice. I had to sell the truck, the car seat didn't fit safely in it, I bought a Honda CRV, still rugged, but just a bit more sensible. I tiled the upstairs bathroom, I still haven't painted the hall.
Dashi is huge now, 17 months and still super cute. He loves his little brother, and goblin loves him too.

Life is really really good.
So how've you all been?

PS: points for guessing the quote, no Googling allowed.

Such very good news and wonderful to hear from you, Sasha. You have no idea how much I wanted to email you and just say "Hello" and to ask how you and the family were doing. But I was good and held off as you requested. Love you to pieces.

Good to hear that things are going well. Can you visit with Copper on occasion? Did the girls borrow the chickens as well? :-)  Such a pleasant surprise to see the restored wolf avatar amongst the notifications! I hope it will be sticking around for a while.

"He is the best thing that has ever happened to us. By miles. I love him more than I ever thought possible." Typical of you to make me tear up... I get it... so happy for you. You had the best reason of all to go missing... but seeing the iconic wolf in the story list again makes my heart happy. Welcome back, Sasha, in what ever form it means, whether you're back in full-force or sporadically... we'll take what we can get. Now, about Sanctuary :)  ... he he... just kidding... no pressure, at all... cheers... Gary....

Sasha...Welcome back! An eventful time for you and Cris!

I had been thinking about you and had just finished re-re-reading American Songbook and look who posts a new story!

Congratulations on everything!

SASHA!!!! Val told me you were back, and I had to log on to see if you wrote anything new! I see you have! :)

I'm so glad to see you're back, Sasha! Of course you had the best reason for staying away. You never realize how much love is in your heart until you have a baby. I just moved my baby, my youngest, into his dorm room today. It goes so fast it's not funny. Enjoy every single moment.

Sucks about selling your truck and lending out your horses. I had to sell my hella awesome Datsun 280ZX when my firstborn was born. Broke my heart. lol I was so cool in that car! :P

Congrats to you, Sasha, and welcome back! :)

*sniffs* You smell different--but still good! :) Welcome back!

I smell more like a small person? I swear our child is filthy the whole time. Goblin always has dirty fingernails...

I feel a bit like Kurt sometimes. It's all very confusing, but it's good.

It's so very good to have you back ... the joys of fatherhood. Enjoy Goblin, the days pass more quickly than you can imagine.

So about that sequel to Born Wolf ... hey, if Gary can ask so can I.

Dugh! *big slobbery wolf kisses* how wonderful to see you!

Kurt's still there, and we'll see. I see the White Horse Hill pack often on my travels, Dashi and I walk over there a lot, so we'll see when they're ready to share.

A little late to the blog but i am delighted to hear about the Goblin. Ours is just entering then years but I still remember having an infant. 2 men and a child is a different kind of coming out, in the spotlight and blending into the furniture at the same time.

I can only wish for you the same happiness and joy that we have. They imprint their scent on you in the first minutes and you are done for life.  They grow up too too fast but as my brother wisely told me; the only thing worse than your kids growing up is if they don't.

Happy journey
