The shift from public conflict to private tenderness at the spit is seamless, and the danger surrounding Willy James and Runyan brings a necessary shadow that deepens the stakes. Through all of it, I just love Gary’s magic: the way small gestures, soft breaths, bowed heads, and trembling relief carry more weight than any grand speech. It’s a tight, human, beautifully crafted piece of storytelling.
