This scene reminds me of a similar one with Quinn and Jude (cant remember the chapter). I wonder if the Parallel has significance. Blasphemous though it may be to say this i'm not really looking foreward to that. Dennis didnt really grab my attention and his problems would make him just as annoying as Rory was in the start if not worse. Did anyone else find this amusing? Point taken. My Classical Studies Teacher's favourite saying just came back to bite me. "Beware the Poorly supported assertion". However, on this point I disagree. Aaron grows more complex with every chapter. I think DD27 will be very interesting as Aaron's behaviour will either meet a pattern or break it. Either way his character becomes clearer. I don't necessarily want Aaron to redeem himself, though it would be satisfying to watch (read) Aaron experience Metanoia. Wynter

Personally i find it encouraging that a movie like this was even made. I mean, other than Philidelphia how often do you see big names making a movie about the issues facing gay men. I'd really like to see it but i doubt i'll get to. I'm still very much 'in the closet' and asking one of my friends to go see it with me would be akin to branding GAY on my forehead. Not to mention what my parents would think coz my Dad's a naturally suspicious person. Wynter

Only authors who arent capable of creating complex characters use Pure Evil characters. Since Dom is most certaintly capable of making characters with complex psychological issues I'm holding out for an eventual explanation of why it is that Aaron is acting like such a jerk.

Indeed, Denial is a very potent tool. Yes. Yes I did. It's almost as good as the Quinn/Jude sessions. And I don't feel like poking Rory for not taking whats on offer the way i did with Quinn. Hrm. Hey College Guy, I just noticed this thread today or i would have weighed in ages ago. Originally you asked if it was inherently wrong to commit suicide. I would have to say yes. It's not just because it will affect those who love you now. But also what it will do to those who will benefit from your presence in the future. I think we've already established that you're not alone. Many of us contemplate suicide as a way out, most of us realise there are better ways to deal with it. This is something that heped me in some of my darker momements "Learn to accept that which is unchangable. Strive to change that which is unnacceptable. Learn to tell the difference between the two." Highly Possible. That ending has me worried because it seemed somehow final. But I'm not ready to give up hope yet. Surely not even Rory can be so blind that Lukes obviously jealous behaviour has no meaning. I think the problem is that Rory doesnt have enough self confidence. The idea that someone as hot as Luke might be attracted to him hasnt occured to him.

They may not intend to do harm but often do. If you really need spiritual advice i'd advise using one of those links the others gave you just in case the family priest decides to solve your problems by going to your parents. I personally dont follow any religion even though I've been educated in Catholic Schools all my life. I gave up on Catholicism a long time ago. I beg to differ. Other than Alice who does he have at home that really means anything to him? He never mentions anyone specific and after all this time he still hasnt even tried to call any of his old friends and none of them have contacted him. Hi, long time Dom fan first time poster, Just a thought Dont get me wrong i'd like to see Rory and Luke together but have you considered that this might be what he wants us to think so that we dont see the twist coming. Good authors do that sort of stuff. We've got to remember this aint a soap opera. WOnt say anymore coz sat8997 already covered it in detail.
