Stephen met his gaze for the briefest of seconds, dark eyes looking back at him. They were the exact opposite of his own, which were of such a light blue that they were almost grey. The man gave Stephen a half smile and said, ‘Excuse me,’ as he walked past. He was by far the most gorgeous person Stephen had ever seen. A side piece to Storms.

It was a Tuesday in February, and cold, and Stephen really, really needed a drink after the day he’d had. He loved kids, he really did. Besides having spent the last three years of his teens coaching a local junior football team and finding that he was really good at it, there was a reason he had chosen to become a teacher. He’d been woefully unprepared for the realities of teaching PE to secondary school students in this particular school district, however. In other words, his pupils were a bun

Where Do You Fall on the Grammar-Stickler Scale?

Redid it for shits and giggles and got 7. Not sure what I did differently... -
Where Do You Fall on the Grammar-Stickler Scale?
Thorn Wilde replied to Valkyrie's topic in The Lounge
Using “whom” in conversation is one of the ones I did tick. Cause I do that. Consistently. Where applicable. I read somewhere once, “Why don’t people like copy editors when we’re such nice people out with whom to hang?” (I’m not that bad...) And yeah, “this one’s more perfect” is terrible. -

*hides* I only got a six.... But there are a lot of things not covered here that I'm really militant about. -
She's adorable, but my flatmate really isn't doing a very good job of training her. She doesn't do firm. And people seem to think that you don't need a firm hand with a small dog. Couldn't be further from the truth...

Ugh. Everything's so noisy. Puppy's running round the living room all anxious cause my flatmate is tidying in the kitchen and in her room and puppy isn't allowed in. She has separation anxiety. And her toys are noisy. And flatmate is listening to music. I never realised how much I enjoy silence until I couldn't have it anymore. I mean, can't she ever just read or something?

I’m not really comfortable with compliments on my appearance at the best of times. I’ve tried to tell him that before... but I don’t think he gets it. I get taken off guard when it just comes out of nowhere like that. But pretty is particularly unpleasant at the moment. Told him so last night. Complimenting me makes him happy, so...

G’day, dughlas. How are you?

Was gonna play D&D today, a campaign we only get to play a couple of times a year because one of the party lives in Dubai, but the DM isn’t feeling well. I miss playing my half-Drow rogue Trick. My bard in the other campaign I play is awesome, too, but I’m kind of bored with her at the moment. Was looking forward to a bit of sneaky trickster thieving...

Fairly pleased with that one.

Yeah, it’s not like it can actually hurt him.

Stiff, Stiff, Stiffer
Thorn Wilde commented on Laura S. Fox's story chapter in Stiff, Stiff, Stiffer
Because of its connotation. It’s such a harmful concept. It suggests that a person owes you sex and love, and makes it sound like friendship isn’t valuable on its own. I have “friendzoned” people, and fuck those guys for so much thinking they were entitled to me and my body that they threw a hissyfit cause I wasn’t interested, throwing the care and friendship that I gave them back in my face. Okay, rant over. -
I think so too. Thanks for commenting!

‘you’re pretty,’ you say and i cringe pretty has never been me, never felt like my skin, i never wanted to be pretty and now, much less than before pretty makes me feel feminine pretty makes me feel small i’ll be anything you want call me what you like uncomfortable as I find compliments on my physical appearance, call me hot, beautiful, stunning, if you have to but don’t call me pretty pret

Morning, DiC! Cats are the best. I too think dogs are too much work. My flatmate's shih tzu is vert sweet and all, but my god, is she high maintenance. Just the fact that I sometimes end up looking after her is enough to up my anxiety considerably. Kind of wish I hadn't agreed to her getting it... And that's not even my dog. One day a dog might be nice. A calmer and more trainable breed. Corgi, maybe.

I took melatonin. I am now sleepy. Gonna head to bed. Night, DiC!

Ugh. "Friendzone" is the ugliest word in the English language. -
Okay, just watched a trailer, and why haven't I heard of this before??? It looks awesome! And I saw Christopher Eccleston and Michael Gambon in that trailer! What?? Also, the island isn't fictional, it's Svarlbard, but the town is.
-
Well, if it takes place in (fictional) Norway, clearly this is something I ought to know about. And I like weird. I may check it out.

No surprise that Alex is a dick. Also no surprise that Aron was in love with Carter. Just waiting for Carter to realise that he was in love with Aron all along too... Also, Deadpool reference! Don't suppose you've read my Spideypool fic? /shameless plug

Never seen that. What's it about?

That's a great poem! I'll bet there were a lot of those students who needed to read it.

I like grimdark. Occasionally, anyway.
