CW: More bullying stuff You're not wrong. At the same time, kids do all kinds of awful shit. I was horribly bullied throughout my school days. I don't think all the guys who chased me and beat on me, or all the girls who talked about me behind my back and called me all kinds of horrible names, were psychopaths. Even the worst of them were probably just going through some shit of their own. It's not all nature, a lot of it's nurture. It is, for instance, a sad fact that schools in less affluent areas often have more violent bullying than schools with wealthier students, where bullying often takes on a different, less violent form. I was bullied so badly when I was in an inner city school that I tried to kill myself at the age of 10. (A lot of those kids were children of immigrants who struggled financially and socially; being poor can have disastrous consequences for a child's psychological development. Cultural difference can also come into play. Add to that how impressionable youth can be, and how they tend to follow group think and just do what their friends are doing, you've got a recipe for shitty people. That doesn't mean they're psychopaths, it's not their fault. And they can still become decent individuals when they grow up; I firmly believe most of them did.) After my suicide attempt, I switched to a private school, and though I was still bullied, things got better, and I didn't get beatings anymore. Admittedly, no one did anything quite as bad to me as what Patrick did to Daniel at any point. But while Patrick may be a psychopath, his friends Neal, Dinesh, and Ethan are just kids who think following his lead makes them cool.

They won't do that. They're greedy, but they're not stupid. When the original is that iconic, there's not a chance in hell of a remake succeeding. As for the rest of it . . . I mean, I like the sequels. I've really enjoyed them. Are they the best movies ever? No. But neither were the originals. Iconic, yes. Innovative, yes. Exciting, absolutely. But if it hadn't been for the amazing chemistry between Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill, they would have been terrible, because as much as the story and plot were great, the script sucked. I think this religious relationship people have with the original Star Wars movies is ridiculous, because objectively speaking they're really not as good as people try to make them out to be. It's nostalgia more than anything else that makes us love them so much. Just my opinion, of course.

This was really nice! I'm on a Yuri on Ice fanfic kick over on AO3 right now. Crazy about these two, they're so sweet! Yuri on Ice is technically not a yaoi anime at all. That's part of what's so wonderful about it. It's a general piece of prime time animation that featured a pretty unambiguous homosexual relationship, which is fairly taboo in Japan. I mean, you never even see them kiss (properly, I mean the one in ep 7 is definitely a kiss, it's just kind of censored because, again, prime time). With it not actually being yaoi, you avoid that whole typical seme/uke dynamic that you find in yaoi in general. Instead you get this really honest and sweet relationship that transcends the stereotypes. It's so fantastic. Please finish watching it, @Sussins, if you haven't already.

It's a series. Most of these characters probably won't be in it, as they were created for the video games, and the series is based off the books. I am unhappy with Henry Cavill's casting as Geralt (for one, he's a douche, and for another, he just doesn't look right), but I'm definitely going to watch it, and I'll give him a chance. I can recommend checking out some videos from Witcher 2 and 3 on YouTube, though, if you're curious about the characters. Witcher 3 is a particularly beautiful game, and watching through cut scenes is like watching a movie. Look up the characters, and you'll find videos of them. For Eskel and Lambert, I recommend this one:

I really hope you'll give Rogue One a chance some day. It really is a fantastic piece of cinema, and has nothing to do with the sequels at all.

OMG, this was exactly what I was gonna say! George Lucas is the worst thing that ever happened to his own franchise. The prequels especially proved this, IMO. Oh, and I also liked Rogue One. A lot.
