  1. I love Stravinsky. The Rite of Spring and The Firebird are my favourites. That opening, to Rite of Spring... Perfection. And the Firebird finale just fills me with joy.
  2. Well, according to Myr it's completely intentional, so... 🤷‍♂️
  3. Yeah, that was my shaved head phase (I say phase, kind of wanna do it again), it's halfway down my back and in an undercut these days.
  4. It's to decrease server load. I asked about it. Personally think a week of inactivity is a bit short, but the admins know what they're doing.
  5. Since we're posting pictures, here's both my tattoo and my industrial:
  6. I have not seen that. I'll look it up. Thanks!
  7. Dorian and Sera are gay. Iron Bull and Josephine are bi. If you romance neither Dorian or Bull they end up together, though, which is all kinds of adorable. So much good party banter. In Dragon Age 2, all the romance options are bi. Though if you're male and romance Anders there's an extra bit of dialogue heavily indicating that he's actually gay. EDIT: Forgot about Sebastian from the Exiled Prince DLC, who's straight, so there's one romance option in DA2 that isn't bi.
  8. Old topic's been archived, so starting a new one. Here's the original: I haven't watched this yet, but my flatmate watched The Miseducation of Cameron Post last night and says it's amazing. Here's the trailer (contains swearing): I think it looks really, really good.
  9. I have both earlobes pierced, two in each, and an industrial piercing in my right ear. I have one teeny tiny tattoo, a treble clef behind my ear. Really want more, though.
  10. There aren't an awful lot of them, it's true, but they do exist. Protagonists are even rarer, particularly unambiguous ones. The only game I've played with an unambiguously LGBT protagonist is Dreamfall Chapters, where Kian Alvane is canonically gay and you can't choose not to be. Boy, did that ever piss off the cis-het dudebros... Wish he could have actually had a romance, though. Then you've got your gay love interests in the Mass Effect and Dragon Age games. Literally the only trans character from a game I can think of off the top of my head is Krem from Dragon Age Inquisition. Can you think of any?
  11. I just watched this, and it made me cry. So beautiful! Some information about the film here.
  12. Not in my experience. I've had a lot of partners whom I didn't find especially physically attractive when I first met them, but then I got to know them and became friends with them, and suddenly they were gorgeous to me. Or the flirting is just really good. Like I'll meet someone who I don't think of as my type or I think is kind of plain looking, but they flirt so well I just can't help feeling attracted to them. EDIT: I mean, it can start with physical attraction as well, just saying not necessarily.

    Story Blurbs

Blurbs are always a tough one. It's easier when you write fanfic, cause then the reader already knows the characters, but when it's an original novel or short story it's much harder. I've never struggled particularly with titles, though. Often the idea for the story comes with the title, like I think of a phrase that sounds like a good title and then the plot just kind of pops into my head. Other times I do have to write a few chapters before the title becomes self evident. Story I'm working on right now, Mr. Grahame Will See You Now, was just titled Lance and Keenan for a really long time, until I decided to post a sneak peek on GA, actually.
  14. Well, Disney already introduced a gay character in the Beauty and the Beast live action remake, which was rated PG rather than PG-13, and have already alienated all the dude-bros by introducing a racially diverse cast with a nearly equal gender balance, so at this point I think it would actually be doable. It's been a while since Voyager and Enterprise, after all.
  15. Okay, I see... But doesn't it seem excessive to archive them that soon? I get the idea of archiving them, I really do, and honestly I think it's a good thing. Just think it's sad that comparatively active threads that the community care about in practice disappear after a week or so. I don't know much about server load, but won't creating new topics for everything also increase it?
  16. So, don't know if this belongs here, but I've noticed that all threads in the Lounge that haven't had replies in a week have now been archived. I'm assuming this is to prevent forum necromancy, which has been a bit of an issue lately, but it seems kind of counter intuitive that posts that had new replies as late as late October and early November are now archived. I went to post about a new gay theme movie I recently learned of in the relevant thread, and found that I can't because it's been archived. Given that some of these are ongoing threads that get a couple of responses per month that people actually care about, would it make more sense to give a little more time before topics are archived? Like maybe a month or something? Just a thought. It would be nice to not have to create a new topic for new and interesting films that people might want to watch after just a week, when it's a topic that people actually return to a lot.
  17. I just meant, why can't we have both Luke/Han and Poe/Finn? Cause I'd be happy to read either. Though as I mentioned, I'm pretty sure Poe is canonically gay. He's just coded that way.
  18. Agree on Bieber and Thicke (Blurred Lines is the bane of my existence and that man ought to be shot. Just kidding. Not really. Yes, really. I think.). Celine Dion is . . . complicated. I mean, suddenly discovering that she has a sense of humour has made me like her a bit more. The Deadpool thing. This ad, which, while bewildering, is actually kind of funny and shows that she's perfectly capable of self-deprecation. I remember when she never even spoke to her fans and was just this silent diva. Now she's making fun of herself for it, and I can respect that. But her music stopped being remotely interesting in the late nineties.

I have enough friends who have experienced one kind of abuse or another, whether as children or adults with intimate partners. I have a friend who was horribly abused by a boyfriend. Thirteen years later, she's still under his thumb, even though they're not together. She somehow thinks she deserved it. I have another friend (an ex, actually) who has severe complex PTSD from all the trauma she experienced growing up, and who developed an alcohol and drug problem because of it. I wanted Daniel to be given the chance so many of my friends missed, to allow himself to be loved.
  21. I agree regarding episode 8. I wanted to see their dynamic develop properly, and by splitting them up the film itself became kind of choppy. I think it would have helped a lot if they'd done more together. Also, the fan fiction nerd in me ships Finn and Poe so hard... I'm 100% convinced Poe is gay.
  22. This dropped the other day, and I'm still shaking my head in bewilderment, because wtf, Celine Dion??
  23. I'm the same. I mean, there are certainly people I find physically attractive in one way or another, but when it comes to dating, appearance is extremely secondary.

Indeed. Daniel has the kind of people in his life that his mother lacked. That can make all the difference.

    I know, right? Thank you.
