All the pretty boys are coming out! A couple of weeks ago it was Ben Whishaw (The Hour, Skyfall, Cloud Atlas, all the Shakespeare ever). This makes me very happy.

Fair enough. But if women are allowed to have long hair and tie it back or use a hairnet to, say, work in a kitchen, then a man should be allowed to do the same.

He likes his hair fluffy. I blow-dry if it's really necessary, like if I'm going out just after showering and it's winter. But my hair isn't that long, so it's usually no problem.

Mark is a very strong person, dealing with a shitty situation the best way he can. He's very mature and pragmatic. When I was away for uni, Magpie spent an awful lot of time with a friend of ours (she's now dating my brother, but was single at the time), and even though I KNEW nothing was going on, that that was pretty much impossible, I still felt like I wanted to be there; I wanted it to be me who was treated to Doctor Who and Indian take-away on lazy, hungover Sundays. I was jealous, but not because I was worried about being cheated on, just because I wished it could have been me. And I think that't what Mark is feeling.

People talking about multiple ear piercings not being allowed for females, that surprises me. My mum's had five ear piercings since, like, the 70s. She's been a school teacher for over 30 years, and I don't think anyone's ever even commented on that being somehow risqué. I guess that just goes to show the cultural differences, really.

So, I've spent the weekend watching all of The Thick of It and am now slightly in love with Peter Capaldi. Or at least with Malcolm Tucker. At the moment I'm having a hard time telling the two apart. Either way, it's a bizarre feeling, since Tucker is pretty much a massive twat, but for some reason I really empathise with him.
