  1. I love long reviews! I think in many ways it hadn't really occurred to Ben how unstable Mark actually is, emotionally, before this. Thanks so much for this review, you've actually given me a lot to think about with regards to how I've formed the rest of the story. It's a challenge because it's all from Ben's point of view, which means that Mark's emotional journey inevitably falls a bit in the background. It's clear that I need to let it come to the foreground a bit more, though.
  2. For all his intellectual maturity, Mark is still a child in so many ways... Thank you for reviewing!
  3. I had one of those 'OMG, really' moments a couple of days ago when I learned that Ben Wishaw has announced that he's gay and married. He's really private about his personal life, but he pinged on my gaydar almost the moment I saw him in Skyfall. So, I think it's one thing to be happy about a celebrity you care about coming out, but being outed by someone else just isn't cool. I'll try to provide as many puppies and rainbows as I can, but I'm afraid our boys' troubles aren't quite over yet. Thank you for yet another long and thoughtful review! They're my favourite!
  4. That is very possible. I did a lot of research for these chapters. Among other things, I discussed it at length with a friend of mine who used to be into a lot of party drugs. He warned me about amphetamines and MDMA and how it can fuck you up. He also cleared up some common misconceptions about which drugs are the more harmful. I don't think that Mark's doing drugs was really Ben's biggest worry. I think what he worried about was that he would turn to mind-altering chemicals because of emotional pain. That's not a very healthy way to deal with one's problems, and I think it made Ben realise that Mark is less emotionally stabile than he thought he was, which is a pretty scary thing to discover.
  5. Thank you so much!
  6. CHAPTER SIX The Day After Yesterday Ben took Mark by the arm, steering him towards the car. ‘No!’ Mark protested weakly. ‘I wanna go back in and dance!’ ‘Yeah, well, you’re not,’ said Ben. ‘I’m taking you home and putting you to bed. We’ll talk about this in the morning.’ He pushed Mark into the backseat of the car and slid in after him. He gave Mike Mark’s address and strapped the boy in before putting on his own seatbelt. ‘Mm, bed. I like the sound of bed.’ Mark leaned across the mid
  7. The wolf delighted in its strength and yet was angry at its confinement. If only it could get out! Smell the night air, howl at the moon, hunt for prey! But it was trapped, and there was no prey. Wait!—There was something. A scent, drifting in from under the floorboards. It was human. A human scent, warm and strong, and it was right beneath the wolf’s feet. Prey! It began to scratch at the floor with its razor sharp claws, attempting to dig a hole so it could reach that warm human scent,
  8. Here, have some happy!
  9. Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
  10. ‘He’s not a bad guy, you know,’ Remus said. ‘Not really. Just because you don’t like him—’ ‘This is not dislike, Moony,’ Sirius interrupted him. ‘It’s hatred.’ Remus was sitting on the floor of the dormitory, leaning his back against the foot of Sirius’s bed, upon which the latter was sitting with a half-finished essay. Peter was on his bed reading, and James was in the shower. They were in their sixth year at Hogwarts, and it was May. ‘He is a bit questionable, you know,’ said Peter
  11. Remus Lupin stepped into his office and grimaced. Deep shadows were visible under his eyes, for though the Wolfsbane Potion made his transformations less painful and kept him from running amok, his body still took a heavy strain from it all. Even his eyes looked old. Who would believe that he was only thirty-three? What he really wanted to do was go to sleep, but he knew he had a lot of work to do before going back to teaching on Monday. The news that Severus had decided to cover Werewolves
  12. To Sirius it was sometimes a joke, sometimes not. Mostly it seemed that it was, which was why Remus began to long for something else, someone sincere who would understand him and not deny him, and he found that person where he least expected it. Remus/Sirius, Remus/Severus, MWPP
  13. It's a long time in Internet years, though. Very few websites that were around a decade ago are still around today, let alone 21 years.
  14. Happy Birthday!!
  15. I have a lesbian short story in the works for the Hubris collection.
  16. Sasha!!!! So, so happy for you, congratulations and all that jazz, and the same to the husband! You are both beautiful people!! <3
  17. Thank you, my dear!
  18. By Stephen I meant Stephen Fry. Mark I already revealed, Ben specified that he was referring to Mark Gatiss, who is a British actor and screen-writer (co-creator of BBC's Sherlock, where he also plays Mycroft Holmes). Russell was Russell Tovey, another British actor, known from Being Human, among other things. For the others you were spot-on! Thanks, as always, for reviewing!
  19. A lot of good stuff here. I am guilty of adding references, but I don't think it's an ego thing... I do it because I think it adds a certain level of detail and life to the story. Like seeing a poster for a band or a movie in a scene in a film. It makes it more real. It also makes it more real because when people have conversations they reference all kinds of pop-culture (this is a very Whedonian way of doing things, I probably get it from him). Of course the pop-culture I will reference will be pop-culture I'm familiar with. I will, especially, mention real bands and artists, because music tends to be important to my characters. That also means it isn't idle, it's plot-related, because it tells you something about the character. I think most of these clichés can be justified if they're done well and if you know what you're doing and are aware that they are clichés, so that you can do them differently. Just like how, once you know and are aware of all the "rules" of an art form, be it music, painting or writing, you can safely bend them to breaking point and use it to create good art.
  20. Haha, I'm glad I managed to fix it well enough to keep breathing. Thank you for reviewing!
  21. Ben is concerned for Mark's wellbeing. Drugs are bad. Thanks for reviewing!
  22. I'm glad I've sorted out the situation to your satisfaction. Thank you for reviewing!
