One of my mum's cats is named Anubis. She has a thing of naming all her pets after mythological or historical figures. She's had pets with names such as Ramses, Totmes, Ptolemy, Cassandra, Isis, Oedipus, Serapis, Hannibal, Minerva and the list goes on. Glad you liked the story, thanks for reviewing!

Saturday 6th July, 5:30 pm The boy with the silly little dog sat down in the seat opposite me. I spared him a glance over the top of my glasses, registering neatly styled blonde hair, ice blue eyes, tanned face and summer clothes, before looking down at the dog who had settled right next to my foot. God, I feel Zu's frustration in my gut! You have such a way of making me empathise with your characters. Where do you get off being so awesome?

For a very long time, I didn't watch porn at all. I was much more comfortable with reading (and writing) erotica to get my rocks off. Comics can be good, too. It's only in the past year or so that I've at all bothered to go looking. Weirdly, I seem to watch porn with a sort of detached, scholarly interest rather than sexual arousal (not that it doesn't turn me on, a little me-time is generally necessary after watching). It's like, 'So THIS is what they think people want to see?' followed by, 'Oh, that is so unrealistic, he would never last that long!' and, 'Wow, those noises he's making are pretty over the top, sounds like he's faking it.' I have very specific tastes, and way prefer amateur porn to the pro kind. I can like gay, straight or lesbian porn if it's well done, but for the most part I find straight porn to be the most boring and repetitive. Girls in straight porn are mostly dolls, blank and simpering and dull, so on the rare occasions where I feel like watching girls, lesbian porn is much more interesting because they're more proactive.

'They' is fairly accepted, but as it's adapted from a plural it feels very impersonal. It works when you don't know what gender a person is, but it's not a very good alternative to the genderqueer. The Swedish word is 'hen', taken from the Finnish 'hän', as an alternative to 'han' meaning he and 'hon' meaning she. It wouldn't work in English, of course, since 'hen' already has a meaning and it is decidedly female.

No, it made sense. Well, it did to me. I should have specified. In Swedish they have a gender-neutral PERSONAL pronoun, which I really like.

I pretty much have a small collection of older computer mice lying around. My favourite is the Apple hockey puck, which shipped with the iMacs in '98, which I still use on occasion just for shits and giggles. Not because it's very good, because it isn't, it's quite clumsy and very silly, but it's so cute!

God, I am LOVING this! Like you, before you were convinced, I didn't actually think that Zupan and Zander would work, but boy, do they ever! Shipping it! Zupan is so adorable and insecure, it's so nice to see him pushed off his high horse for once. And Zander... Zander reminds me a little bit of Mark, only more camp.
