  1. In contrast to the previous chapter, this one left me with a happy feeling. I LOVE Issac! What an absolute sweetheart! I am so looking forward to whatever's coming next. But, gold shirt, Bay? Really? Bless! There were a few typos in this chapter. Nothing major, but you should probably check it over a couple of times more. And some sudden present tense that confused me a bit. Just thought I'd mention it. Excellent work, as ever!
  2. Well, according to the Sarah Connor Chronicles timeline, Skynet was implemented in April 2011. So, the Terminators are probably already here.
  3. Well, that certainly explains a few things. Poor Bay... I feel for him more and more with every chapter. Your descriptions are amazing. I really felt Bay's fear and confusion and sadness in that last scene. It made my chest hurt. Well done!
  4. The Windows OS's have been pretty much every other hit and miss for a while now. 98, good. ME, suck. XP, good. Vista, SUCK! 7, fantastic (even I like using Win7 and I've been a Mac-user for going on a decade)! 8, meh. Windows 9 (or whatever they're going to call it) should be awesome, if the pattern holds.
  5. How about asking if he wants to hang out? Not for a date, just to go see a movie as friends or something. Then maybe you can get a better feel for what's going on.
  6. I like to at the very least mention what my characters are eating or drinking in a scene, makes it more vibrant. There's actually getting to be a lot of food and drink description in Lavender & Gold.
  7. Welcome, SugarLips! Everyone's really nice here, you're gonna have a great time!
  8. I have to say, I honestly never knew how good chicken could be until I had fried chicken in the US. It probably wasn't even very good fried chicken, I had it at a sports bar at the hotel resort we stayed at in San Diego, but I have never, before or since, had juicer, more awesome chicken than I got there.

    Pretty Boys

Thank you for such a thoughtful review! Your observations are very interesting.
  10. That sucks. I've never eaten Chinese food in America...
  11. Let me tell you a little known secret about most Chinese restaurants in the West: If you go in there and speak their language and ask for a dish you ate in China, provided they do food from that province, they will make it for you. Most Chinese restaurants have a 'secret menu' (meaning, ask and you shall receive) for Chinese customers, and the mark of a good Chinese is that a lot of Chinese people go there.
  12. Sure, blame me! At least your updates are frequent. Loved this chapter! Very good. Zupan actually mostly pissed me off... He struck me as the kind of person who's been through hell and pulled through, and because they managed, they don't think they need to pay attention to how anyone else is doing. I'm gonna take a wild guess that the guy Bay passed on his way out was Issac?
  13. Mmmm, lemon curd....

    Matt

I want these boys to be forever, but my inner realist is like, nuh-uh, no one ever ends up with someone they start dating when they're 16! Maybe the future brings more stories about these two. Thanks for commenting!

    Alan

Alan and Matt are an absolutely darling couple. Though I think at this point in the story, Matt doesn't really know himself what it is he potentially wants from Alan, any more than Alan does. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing!
  16. My mum makes awesome hasselback potatoes! My favourite thing that I make is spaghetti carbonara. Bacon, garlic, shallots, cream, egg yolk and black pepper. I use wholewheat pasta. I couldn't really give precise measurements because I always make it by feel, but basically, thick slices of bacon, finely chopped garlic and chopped shallots go in a pan. Add cream and black pepper, let boil until it's nice and thick (but not too thick). Take off the heat, add egg yolk (separate carefully so the sauce doesn't get grainy from eggwhite), stir it together, stir in the pasta, sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper to taste and serve with parmesan. Quick, easy and omg, so tasty! I've never had a carbonara I liked better than my own.
  17. I know that scene probably shouldn't have made me smile... But it did anyway. Silly Bay! That said, I get where he's coming from. It's not easy when people expect you to conform to a stereotype like that. Looking forward to the next chapter!
  18. Awww!!! So sad!
  19. S&M is pretty much my favourite Metallica record. The symphonic version of Call of Cthulu is pretty much the most epic, bad-ass thing ever cut to tape. So awesome! I'm really getting into this story. Finding a lot I can identify with Bay on (except the athletic thing, I wish....)
  20. Damn, I'm out of likes... This is a list I can get behind!

    Alan

Thank you so much for this long and thoughtful review! I am so glad you liked Alan's story. I think that, however else one might feel about him, he's one of the most deeply human characters I've ever created, and that makes him so interesting. I love him to bits, I really do, so it's lovely when people see what I see. Again, thank you thank you thank you!
  22. Aww, that's so sad! Poor Bay!
  23. Awesome start! I'm loving Bay already. And I agree, I despise Gok Wan! Also found it oddly ironic that he professes to liking Queen, easily the campest of their genre. Reading on now!

    Chapter 5

I've really rather enjoyed this, and more than I thought I would. This isn't a genre I've read much. Excellent work!

    Matt

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was a lot of fun to write. Matt and Alan are my favourites. I'm a little sad that I'm not writing anything more about them for now...
