  1. Good girl!
  2. You know, that makes me really angry, that a school would do that.
  3. Because Christian Bale. *nods*
  4. I'll look some of them up tomorrow. In the cases where I've at all got specific quantities of the ingredients (as previously mentioned I'm a very intuitive chef and rarely use recipes in the traditional sense) they're all in metric, hope that's okay.
  5. I have some guilty pleasures, but I don't think I'm allowed to talk about them here....
  6. Bah, you colonials will never understand! I for one am super excited! I think this movie is going to be awesome, and it gets extra points for having Martin Freeman in it because, well, Martin Freeman. *swoon* <3
  7. We try to change it up a bit. We both enjoy meat, but doing veggie days feels really good. I actually sometimes go periodically vegan, a relic from the time I was religious and observed lent. I know a lot of recipes for really tasty vegetarian and vegan food.
  8. Boyfriend requested vegetarian today, so I obliged. Went with pasta for dinner. Capelletti stuffed with grilled peppers and cheese (I didn't make these from scratch, I found them in the shop and they looked tasty). I made a tomato sauce with yellow peppers, red onion, garlic and zucchini. Flavoured arrabiata with cayenne and piri piri, plus nutmeg, oregano and paprika. Om nom!
  9. Poor Lena. And poor Bay. It makes me so sad, hearing about this part of his life. You got his feelings across brilliantly, his guilt and frustration. That said, I think this chapter was a bit too... short. I would have liked to be shown more and told less, if that makes any sense. A bit of dialogue, maybe a scene with Bay and Lena and the rest together? Just a thought. Eagerly awaiting more!
  10. *psst* Lordi are Finnish. If you want Norwegian goth metal, talk to me. I'll educate you good. Excellent chapter! I think Bay and Issac have a really interesting dynamic. I'm dying to find out how lunch goes! Though I think it would have been interesting to hear more about what they were talking about for three hours straight. Keep it up, darling! Fantastic work.
  11. Shepherd's pie!

    Chapter 1

    Beautiful.
  13. I'm making shepherd's pie today! Om nom!
  14. Ow. Oh, ow, my heart! That was painful. Poor Alex! And poor Bay, being so caught up in himself and his self-hatred and internalised homophobia that he let it affect the one person who knew who he was and loved him for it. Why do you want to hurt me, Sasha?? Excellent work, of course. Well-rounded dialogue, heart-breaking honesty.
  15. I wouldn't take it too hard when people don't respond to texts right away... I texted my three best friends today to see if they wanted to hang out. One had left her phone in the car, the second responded about four hours later and the third still hasn't replied. Some people are just not very good with phones.
  16. It could go really well as a companion story to a story I wrote once about a teddy (with a red, airplane-shaped button for one eye and one ear chewed off) who protected a little boy named Jaimie from monsters.
  17. ...Can I write it?
  18. Issac is awesome! And that tattoo sounded really gorgeous. I would really love something like that for myself, I think. And you have a character named Thorn! Excellent work, as always, so loving this. Can't wait for more! x
  19. Aww, a fluffy chapter! <3 Alex seems absolutely adorable. And yay, tip of the hat to Beautiful Thing! You know how much I love that film! Great chapter, very sweet.
  20. My MacBook Air has never failed me. I've had it for nearly two years and it's my baby and I love it. I also love my MacBook Pro. I bought my first iBook when I was 16, and since then have had two MacBooks (hard-drive fails, both of them), one MacPro (had it for five years, then I moved and it stood gathering dust for a year and when I got home and turned it on the motherboard got fried, so, my own fault) and now these two laptops. I love MacOS. I have no desire for any other devices, though it's likely I'll get an iPhone when my old mobile dies, given that it'll be compatible with my calendar and address book and everything.
  21. I read a really interesting article a while back on how technology is changing the way our children's brains function. Not just changing how they think, but actually physically changing the way neural pathways are formed. I've been trying to find it for the better part of fifteen minutes, but it was a couple years ago, and google is being no help to me as there's so much out there on the subject. But the bottom line was that the world is so fast-paced now that kids' brains are developing differently simply because of all the input they're getting from their surroundings. This would be why so many kids seem to have a hard time concentrating on specific tasks, because their brains are made for multitasking. I thought of it again a couple of months ago when I saw the latest Madagascar movie. Everything was going so fast I was having trouble keeping up with the plot, but the kids I was watching it with seemed to have no such trouble. Even people only a few years younger than me seem to get bored from movies and stories where the plot develops slowly or where there's a lot of dialogue and not so much action, no matter how good the story/actors/production/whatever is.
  22. I effing love string theory! It's such an abstract, whimsical idea. Things like that make me happy. It's why I, for a misguided few months, thought I wanted to be a physicist, before I realised that I suck at math.
  23. Wow, that's really interesting! And so weird. O.o
  24. I like spheres. They're very attractive.
