cool, if you can come up with anything that would be cool. If not that's fine as well. I imagine every story I write won't be able to be matched with a image.
Once again I'm looking for an image to associate with a new story and I thought I'd include the GA members again. I'm writing a story called Bad Seed, it a high school story about a teen who dances along the lines of a rebellious trouble maker and a victim of hate.
I'm looking for drawings no actual photos and I only want images that I can have permission to use so I can't accept pictures that aren't your own. If you look back through this post you can see some of the others that I've used or check out my page. http://members.gayauthors.org/empathy/
I just read the first chapter of the story and sent the rest to my phone to read later tonight. Excellent story I really like it. I know I'll enjoy it as I read more.
Like everyone else I enjoy hearing that people enjoyed what I wrote but I'd love to have a little bit of criticism as well. My newest story has gotten a lot of good feedback in a short time, and sense it's something that I struggled to write I was very appreciative of every comment and review I got.
I have no prob with any level of violence, even though I like to think my story isn't exactly like most other vampire stories. I think I was more so worried about scaring off any readers I had thinking it was going to turn into a story full of those types of things. I'm nearly done with writing the rape and I like what I have so far.
When it comes to violence, sex, or other such areas, how much is too?
For instance I'm actually writing something that includes a rape scene and I want it to be an intense part of the story but I'm wondering now, How much is too much?
I'm kind of the same way. When I finish a story I read it twice before I send it to an editor and then once I get it back from him to go over the changes and his comments about the piece. I often end up doing further editing... and now i've gotten into the habit of sending it off to a second editor as well as a few beta readers.
haha.
Just something I'm thinking about at the moment. It's got to be one of the most direct tests of dedication for an author. To write a story that you're pretty sure no one wants to read. To follow that driving force that's telling you to get your story out despite the fact that others may not enjoy it.
For instance one story that I'm working on at the moment is a fanfiction...a star wars fanfiction. (please don't throw things at me ) And well as far as starwars goes you're either a fan or not. And as far as reading the fanfictions.....
Anyways, just more random thoughts.
The WSSC: The Writer Support Sub-Committee is in the process of gather members to participate in the Editors/Beta Readers program.
You can read a bit more about that program here: Editor/Beta Readers Program
At the moment I'm looking for a few members to participate in the Beta Readers side of things. (feel free to sign up to be an editor)
The Beta readers will consist of members who can be sent a story before it is made final and posted to the site. These members can give each story a once over as well as an early review. The Beta readers will be broken into groups so that the readers don't become bogged down with the amount of stories that appear on the site.
There is no criteria for being a beta reader, other than the desire to read. Anyone who may wish to participate in this please PM me. (Empathy) and title the PM Beta Reader.
You can read more about the Writer Support Sub-Committee here: Writer Support Sub-Committe
And look for more projects and activity from the WSSC in the near future.
Well I do plan to work on a few of my stories this weekend and that's all I've done "all day" up til now. So I guess that counts as work but I think I'll be disappointed if I wait for that check to come.
The person below me secretly wishes they were a Power Ranger.
Up until recently I was letting family and friends read A Cursed LIfe but now that I'm adding a bit more gay element to the story I've gotten pretty quiet about my writing.
