Why is Liam still friends with (and doing favors for) people who continue to disparage Neil? You'd think he'd have ditched them by now. That said, this was another excellent chapter! I love that the whole town is supporting the Leopards, and Matt and Gary are too awesome for words. I am awaiting next weekend with as much eagerness and anxiety as the team and their fans.

I think it's pretty safe to assume that Mark was not masturbating to fantasies of our blond president in the 1970s. -

Hey, welcome! We can always use someone else stupid enough willing to do the research. First, nothing is ever off-base or out of place. Second, Liza Lou! I love it! Haha! (Not LOL because we are too trendy for that.) Third, I am totally onboard with ME's having been dimwitted enough to get herself labeled a chav and shunned by Society by inviting the paps (best term ever!) onto her doorstep. Worst-dressed list is too good a fate for her. Bloody slut! (Sorry, was that too harsh?) Ha! I think I'm going to like having you around. -

How was Parnell related again? His mother and JP's father, right? So any other Parnells would not be related to JP. -

Accidentally shot himself! It never gets old. But, I agree: it'd have to be a brother, cousin, etc. -

Jeez! I didn't even remember that one. So, is your ability to recall these various assassinations in all their intimate details an indicator of your criminal past? -

Ah, a euphemism. No offense, darling, but that isn't typical English idiomatic usage. "Reached his peak" is synonymous with "reached his full potential" (e.g., career, athletic ability). So, from that perspective, Brian was at quite a low point when the alleged shooting incident happened. Also, don't go back and check which side of the head it was. That was a joke. I hope you don't mind that I am appreciating a rare moment of your being delightfully Danish. Not that you aren't always delightful. It's just really easy to forget that English isn't your primary language. -

Eh, that's what forums are for. I am also too busy to do the research but I did randomly open a chapter of Millenium (using information generously provided by Mike) that happened to be the chapter (I think #42) in which Brad and Stef find out that JP had disowned Brian. I really should re-read the rest of the books. Maybe next month during the brief window (about 3 weeks) between when things get a lot less busy and when they get busy again in an entirely different way. Me, too! That was hilarious. -

Ha! I've only read the most of books once (I started rereading them but got stuck somewhere in the middle of The Land Whore). Most of the minor characters are a bit out-of-sight-out-of-mind for me. So, who was Brian Parnell? That (some kind of relative) of JP who endeared himself to all and sundry then went bad (before the accidental shooting incident)? Also, how exactly were you cheating earlier? And (for Tim), has a CAP character ever reached a definable peak? I'm so confused. -

Who exactly informed you of this? I've been using haha instead of LOL for years. It's good to know I'm finally trendy. -
I can't wait for JJ's revenge! I'm not even going to try to speculate what it'll be, because nothing I could conceive will come even close to what he's going to come up with. Also, I had to look up Tatler to see just how classy it was; that is some scary arse shit! Looking forward to learning what's going on with Zach. (In a few days...yay!) I loved the symbolism in Will's slashing the tires of the car he bought Zach. And, Julius clearly didn't have a clue who he was dealing with.

So, you lull us into a false sense of security, plying us with gentle humor, then end with a cliffhanger like that? What the fuck? I loved it!

Another wonderful chapter! I'm always really impressed at how you write about the games from different perspectives: players, coaches, spectators, etc. The radio commentary was a nice new touch, although I have to admit I had the same problem as Karen trying to follow the match with only surnames. I loved the comic irony of Brandon's and Isaac's continued cluelessness about the brat. How do they think he ended up as vice-captain if he still had the same attitude? And Ty's dad...I can't help but think he will somehow try to take the credit for it if Ty gets drafted.

I remembered your commenting on the 500 posts and thought you might know about the other levels. You're so sweet. Although you might want to be careful what you offer. Will owns the building and a percentage of the club. I don't think we ever learned how much other than Stef had proposed 60% before they met with Josh. (At least, I couldn't find it when I went back to check.) He also has the lease on the club so it is in his interests to keep it in business. -

Will is looking for ways to spend Brad's money. I think the Chicago club is Stef's investment. Either way, Will doesn't want to appear incompetent at managing his first business venture. EDIT: Also, there is a big difference between spending money and losing it. -

I'm going to have to disagree with both of you here. While this may be true for the average (really rich) person, owning businesses for fun has never been Stef's model. Bear in mind this is Stef who grew up poorer than dirt and sold his body on the streets of Paris to buy food. Stef is in business for the money; Stef is Will's mentor and this is Will's first business investment. Will is going to want to prove himself, not fritter the opportunity away as a hobby. -

Have you ever really tried to hide it? Hey, being a drama whore isn't all fun and games. It's a bit like being a junkie: you're constantly jonesing for the next fix. (Admittedly, my experience with being the traditional sort of junkie is pretty much nonexistent. Haha.) -

This post is a little gratuitous because I want to see what happens at 300. Fish is a tastilicious treat of the first water. It's poached foods that should be banned as inedible. I kind of hate clubs. A good bar, on the other hand, can be glorious. Edit: So, what happens at 300 posts? Nothing! Nothing happens. I feel a bit cheated. Edit 2: Where is Tim when I need him to explain these sorts of things to me? (Alright, I know it's midnight in Copenhagen and it is unreasonable for me to expect him to be at my beck and call.) -

I am totally embracing my inner coward here. Far be it from me to question the size of...whatever it was to which the young gentleman was referring. Topic? Do we even remember what it was?
