Great chapter with lots of character development. Lovely to see Kevin again and very happy he's doing better. Thanks, Mark!

100% agree! Zach is angry and somewhat irrational. And very strong That's never a good combination.

Loved this chapter! Will and JP's philosophizing is always a treat. Will and Travis's comparing their styles of interacting with others should help them avoid misunderstandings in the future. I really like Travis. Hoping he and Will continue to get closer. And I definitely will not miss Zach, although I suspect we haven't seen the last of him. There is so much action teed up over the next week: several more days in LA then NYC and back for a likely explosive dinner at Escorial. Lots to look forward to! Thanks, Mark!

Loved this chapter! Will's juggling business meetings with the Zach drama and still making time to strategize a family meeting about data privacy was absolutely brilliant! Thank you, Mark!

So good to be back in England, although it does feel like the calm before the proverbial storm. I love George's and Daventry's relationship. George opens up to Daventry more than anyone else, although the last line was very telling. I think at some point George will tell Daventry the truth about his relationships with men. I also think Daventry will be ok with it; he seems pretty open-minded, as evidenced by his attitude towards Penelope Brookstone. Speaking of whom, I wonder if Daventry would consider marrying her to save her reputation. They're good friends, which would be a great improvement over his first marriage, and he's probably the only man in society who'd consider it. I'm also happy Anson's future seems to be taken care of. Thanks, Mark, this chapter was an unexpected and lovely surprise!

Wow, I was not expecting that! That was an incredibly satisfying chapter. I loved the transition from the intensity of the fight with Zach and its aftermath to the hilarious scene with Billie Joe. And, like everyone else, I am happy Zach is now history. I wonder how much of Zach's efforts to get in talk to Will are remorse/regret over his actions and how much is his realizing that he's lost the one person who was willing to go to bat for him against Curtis Buck. Zach's corner is going to be very empty from now on. Thanks, Mark! Awesome chapter!

Why does everyone hate Zach?

I've got a feeling we might see evil Zach again. -
What happens after Zach wakes up?

I kind of put my prediction in my chapter comment before I saw the question. Will, Zach, and Travis have a threesome which dispels the tension but Zach realizes that Will and Travis are more into each other than either is into him. He becomes the third wheel which is exactly what he deserves. -
I really enjoyed this chapter. I liked that Will had to rein in his planning mode and include Travis in the process. Travis's legal team is going to have to be consulted as well. So, the threesome I predicted is likely to happen and might get rid of the tension. Ultimately I think (hope) Zach will realize that Will and Travis are more into each other than either is into him. The more this book progresses, the less I can see Will in Boston. I wonder where Travis is planning to go to college. It'll definitely be outside of California -- he's going to want to be as far from Curtis Buck as he can get. Looking forward to the morning meetings. The one with Can is going to be hilarious. Thanks, Mark!

Things are always better with Stef!

I'm glad Will is making an effort to help Sierra's as well. I can't help thinking about the first thing we learned about Sierra--that she'd had her boobs made too big--and wondering if Curtis Buck had something to do with that. He's definitely got some kind of hold over her.

We just needed something to talk about. I guess now the comments are more interactive, the separate forums are less relevant for responding to comments.

Why does everyone hate Zach?

He's very self-absorbed and his priorities always come first. Will has such a generous, open nature and Zach just takes him for granted. The contrast makes Zach's narcissism even more jarring. -
I can see this heading to where Will and Travis are more into each other than either of them is with Zach. I'm looking forward to seeing what Stef makes of the recordings. Thanks, Mark! Loved this chapter! Looking forward to next weekend.

Travis seems like a really awesome guy. I hope Will managed to extricate him from this crappy situation with his dad. This triangle with Will, Travis and Zach is going to get awkward. Still predicting a threesome at some point, though. Thanks, Mark! Looking forward to the next installment.

The next hour with Will and Travis is going to be very interesting. And there's definitely a comeuppance in Curtis Buck's future. Thanks, Mark! I'm loving the regular chapter postings.

Wow, so much going on in this chapter. So, Travis is Zach's fuck buddy while implying to Will that he's straight. (He never actually said it, just that he knew Will was gay and didn't want to lead him on.) So, the question is does he know about Will and Zach? Also, how long is Will going to be able to stay in that closet watching Travis and Zach hook up? My guess is not very long. I'm also predicting a threesome -- once Will gets past the awkward explanation of his presence in the closet. Will's recordings will no doubt prove very interesting. I'm curious whether he'll invite Travis and Zach to listen with him or share with them after her knows what's on the tapes. Either way, there's some sort of comeuppance in Curtis Buck's future. Thanks, Mark. A somber anniversary but a thoroughly enjoyable chapter!

This chapter was a delightful surprise. The tribute to Her Majesty was equally lovely. Granger has proven once again his superiority in both seamanship and verbal riposte. He also seems to have been saddled once again with a drunk ship's doctor. Two predictions; 1. Anson and Robard will succeed in their treatment of van Hjelmeland (I have never seen Mark introduce a set of large balls and dick he didn't intend to use to his characters' advantage). It also sounds like Anson may have an exciting career in medicine ahead of him. 2. The as yet unnamed Ambassador to Denmark will fate poorly when Granger and Daventry return to court. Thanks, Mark!

Fun chapter! The limo ride was hilarious. This is definitely going to be an interesting party and the tape recorder is no doubt going to feature. Thanks, Mark!

I'm going to amend my my comment about Taylor above. Kissing your boyfriend's gay cousin at a party is probably a harmless bit of fun. Taylor doesn't have a clue about Will's real relationship with Zach. And Zach was probably more upset about watching Will kiss Taylor than he would be if it was anyone else.

Interesting night at the frat house. Dan was cute, Taylor less cute. The morning after is definitely not going to be fun. Ouch! Thanks, Mark! Happy Labor Day!

Another point about Anson's nervousness: sodomy is illegal in the British Navy and he had no idea how George would react.
-
Zach really is awful. He doesn't seem to care who gets hurt as long as he gets to maintain his football career, his straight persona, and his ability to have sex with men. This situation with Taylor (and her controlling father) is not going to end well. Looking forward to meetings with Stef and the weekend with Patrick. I'm still predicting Will abandons his Harvard plans in favor of a NYC school. Another great chapter! Thanks, Mark!
