I've always tried to have variety amongst my characters. Cody returns later in this story, and Dani and Alex get at least a mention in a future one. Their approach to dealing with fertility problems may be unorthodox, but it's just as valid as how CJ and Owen went about conceiving Liebe. Something I enjoyed while writing this story was the opportunity to introduce characters older than the teens that populated most of the early one. Their experiences and outlook are quite different.

Thank you, Tony. I love to inject my stories with interesting (useless?) details. Considering how important the Maya are in the history of the Yucatan, I end up with two chapters where CJ and Owen visit ruins. I'm sure you know where this encounter leads. @Butcher56 Happy New Year and my wishes for a speedy recovery. CJ, and to a slightly smaller degree, Owen, are extroverts. For them, engaging with strangers is easier than it is for most of us. Having a cute kid in tow is a great way to encourage others to approach you. While they might be protective of Liebe, they benefit from her being around.

LMFAO - They would never stoop to recruiting a diplomat and putting him and his family in danger, would they? As a beta reader mentioned, once the CIA gets their claws on you, it'll be difficult to pry them off. More writing from you is a good prospect.

It takes an engineer to provide us with schematics. I enjoyed the Psionic Corps before and hope you share an adventure here and there in 2022. You might be interested in knowing an FBI agent and a couple of CIA ones play major supporting roles in my current story. My damn MC surrounds himself with interesting friends. Should I tell him he might be under surveillance by your Corps? Guilty by association?

It wouldn't be a CJ story if there wasn't at least one trip involved. I may have gone a bit overboard with how many I have them take. As for the parenting skills, most of it is based on what close friends and siblings have done. Sometimes I describe our men doing the exact opposite! Once he moved to Washington, CJ was given a lot of freedom to do things, and I want him to replicate what his fathers did. But he'll still be the disciplinarian, maybe drawing on the stricter approach to child rearing he and his brother experience as youngsters. The permissive approach may not work for everyone but after all, this is CJWORLD where the women are strong, the men are good-looking, and the children are above average.

Good observation. I'm not sure if that couple is more interested in having fun or a kid. I tried to differentiate their approach from how CJ and Owen handled surrogacy in the past and how they'll navigate the process in the future.

Mexico is a big, beautiful country with an amazing history. I couldn't base a story in the country without having the guys travel a bit within it. Although most of the action takes place in the capital, I wanted to share a couple of their explorations. Some I'll describe in detail, other I'll mention in passing.

On his back, with Owen hovering over him, CJ failed to notice they were no longer alone. The dumbbells’ actual weight was not an issue but the bulkiness was. Interesting aspects you've added to common shifter lore. I look forward to the 6 Avengers (sorry Marve) coming together. On a technical note, not sure if the same thing happened in previous chapters, but you have POV shifts which distracted me whenever they happened.

I read an article in which someone claimed they were combing through the books trying to decide what to include in Season 2. I think the producers are playing loose with the order of events and with characters in order to make the show more appealing to a larger audience. After all it's all about the Bejamins and the more eyes on screen they can get.

Interestingly, I had a lot more 'environmental' descriptions in my initial drafts. Those ended up on the edit room floor when it was sounding too much like something CJ was doing. I really wanted to establish some differences between the brothers.

He has no kids, but Ritch does explore his surroundings during his first overseas posting after his promotion to 2nd LT. Coming up next year in a new book.
