I would not kick Jake Fromm to the curb. WOOF! I did look at shirtless pictures of him (he's definitely into hunting and fishing) when trying to envision Riley. Decided against it because he's too small compared to top-of-the-line wide receivers. As for TV stations, I'd think they'd be covering Trevor Lawrence a lot since he's from Cartersville. Even if that's from north of Atlanta instead of south.
Mission accomplished! I did say I wanted a light story to start the year off making readers smile and feel good. Team Carlos would be interested in drafting either one.
“That’s my name. Don’t wear it out.” Phil wedged himself between Riley’s stool and the wall. “Hey, bud, get me a Corona and give Riley another one?” He reached into his front pocket, retrieved a twenty, and slapped it on the bar in front of the bartender.
Tim did not hesitate. “Coming right up,” he said, reaching into the cooler.
“This is a nice surprise. How are ya, Riley?”
“Ahhh… I…” Riley was just as surprised. He felt a stab of fear but ignored it. He knew walking into a ga
Told ya the last chapter was the shortest one in the story. And you won't have to wait too long for the next LONGER one. At least I'm not making you wait too long between them. Look for the next one on Sunday and we'll find out how even though they play for opposite teams they know about each other.
I'm a Cobra too! I went to South Miami High like Phil did. Decided to use for nostalgia's sake. I think you'll like Martinez. He may come across a bit rough but...
Macon is Southern and smaller than the locations I usually set stories in. No way can it compare to New York, Washington, or Miami. The fact you had a pride event alone means there's movement in the right direction. SOrry about the notification for this chapter. Something went wrong. Hopefully you got one for the second chapter. Next one coming up on Sunday.
Phil Martinez entered the kitchen without making any noise; the woman at the sink rinsing dishes did not notice when he crept up behind her. “Happy New Year, Maria,” he said, as he wrapped his arms around her and kissed the side of her face.
“¡Ay, Dios mio! Me vas a dar un ataque al corazón, Felipe. ¿Y por que estás desnudo?”
“Yeah, bro… Why are you trying to give Abuela a heart attack and why are you naked?”
Phil twirled around to face the speaker. His younger brother, Matt, sat at

UGA, UGA, UGA Chaka.... Never mind, damn song's been rattling around my head for a few days.
Sorry about your school losing the game to Duke. LOL My usual fuzzy logic wanted a football powerhouse losing to an unlikely team and since I wanted two Southern schools one from the SEC and one from the ACC sounded like a good idea. Duke making it to the Orange Bowl game was far-fetched, but hey, this is fiction so I get to do whatever I want.
This chapter introduced Riley, we meet Martinez in the next one. Whatever angst Riley may have experienced about coming out was dealt with already, he's accepted himself and it's now his time to be open about who he really is. The angsty, coming out stories are such a cliche I wanted to move away from them.
Tomorrow was part of an anthology so I can't fiX it. I tried to do something I'm not allowedto, screwed it up, and @Renee Stevens will have to work her magic.
