  1. Ooops... You left this one off. https://gayauthors.org/story/carlos-hazday/georgetown-goodnight-my-angel/17 But don't worry, Steve. NOT your fault. I screwed up, the story published early, and I had to undo it. Let's hope my fingers don't slip and hit the wrong key again.

You missed it because there was no notification. Knowing that, I posted a status update letting people know the chapter was up and giving a link. You should follow me so you get those notices. Harley may be maturing, but he'll always be Harley. Insight into how THIS author works: I initially had them watching an action movie. Over Christmas, my nephew proudly showed everyone his new armpit hair and bragged about his pubes. His mother rolled her eyes and his father laughed. When I told my brother it was time for the talk, He assured me Big Mouth, had taken care of the issue. My sister-in-law was not thrilled her 12 and 10-year old sons were allowed to watch the show. I binged it and decided it was better than an action flick.

I'll reply in reverse order. The problem with Diaz was solved, and CJ's learning he doesn't always have to go in with guns blazing. Something Owen will continue to reinforce and that will serve the hothead well in the future. CJ's continues to grow and learn. Thank you so much for validating my approach to Brad. Means the world to me someone who lived through war service concurs. Most of it is based on what I've heard, seen, or read. The phantom pain bit we might all have heard about, but its inclusion was due to a conversation with someone I know who lost both legs. I initially question Brad's use of derogatory language towards Muslims and Arabs but was told by a real veteran it was accurate. Same with the gory descriptions. Thank you, and we have a much lighter chapter coming in a week.

The more I read this chapter, the better I like it. A soft, funny beginning, a small controversy with a quick resolution all building up to Brad. And of course a little 'pillow talk' to wrap it up and hint at things to come. Only by now those bedtime chats are between CJ and Owen instead of Cesar and Brett. Thank you, Parker!

You got it. Those two are establishing the pattern for how their lives will be. CJ's all action while Owen forces him to think and look at alternatives. The 4/5/19 date is due to the chapter accidentally going live last week, unpublishing it, and then posting it again this weekend. The system recognizes only the initial one.

There have been a couple of instances where CJ was referred to as the Squad's Godfather. If we carry that further, Owen and Ethan would be the consiglieri. A reader previously mentioned Owen knew how to handle CJ; this is one more instance we see it happen.

Fabricio definitely changes the dynamics. Thiago became a shut-in after the kid was born but is now willing to join the others at times. And in some instances, the kid gets to hang out with all his uncles!

LOL - Sorry about that. Brad returns next chapter and I don't think you'll cry over him. CJ has a temper? I hadn't noticed, but I'm keeping all rusty knives away from him. Our teens are growing up; most of the Squad's now in their 20s!

Thank you. C&B return next chapter. You'll also see Brad's support system spring into action. I enjoyed writing these chapters. I had the chance to feature the Squad putting into action some of what they learned from the Elite. The transfer of power is in process. The elders will always be around, though.
  11. Against my better instincts (I usually skip stories where Romance is the primary genre,) I decided to try this one out. Pleasantly surprised and impressed with the technical improvements. Keep working at it. However, I won't be reading further for now. I've been burned too many times when authors post stories before they're finished and either abandon them entirely or are unable to maintain a regular posting schedule. I should return when you're done.
  12. Not sure why, but I used murder of crows in last week's chapter and shiver of sharks in the current one. I forgot I also use pod of dolphins in a short story I'll post in late summer and bale of turtles in one coming in spring of next year. I'm a regular zoologist these days...
  13. @Mikiesboy Forgot to mention a shiver of sharks during our previous discussion. Hard to believe I followed a murder of crows with that one.

Thank you! My writing has evolved since those first books along with my portrayal of the characters. Long series tend to get repetitive and I've tried to avoid that pitfall. I don't feel the need to revisit detailed meal plans or other activities unless it's something new which advances the tale.

By now you should know I like to inject lots of humor in my stories. The changes in CJ and Owen will continue, and the next chapter will show how the dynamics between them keep evolving.

Bingo! Most of the time, the two Cesars come to their senses, but now and then Brett has to intervene. And you're right, he--and to a degree, Owen--has learned when to stay in the shadows and when to jump in.

I think it helps they all get along. No weirdo Uncle Carlos in the mix to muck things up. The family gathers for a couple of holidays and special events, I try to make all those instances fun events. Even when some grownups act up. Do you hear me, Cesar?

You always seem to get what I want coming across. Brett used to be scared of being a father so was overprotective. The man's relaxed and realized CJ's got a good head on his shoulders. I've been working on the role reversal for a while and you'll see a bit more of it all the way to the end of this book. About, Liz... Sometime last year, I was criticized because I made the deathbed scene too short and didn't milk the drama enough. Little did those individuals realize the beauty of that final interaction was in its simplicity. I'd say readers went through enough tissues in that chapter. Or how much drama I've milked out of it since! The most important parts of her requests will be revealed in three chapters, on Thanksgiving Day 2019. Here's a hint: she uses the words of a Blood, Sweat, and Tears song to convey it. Thank you, Spikey.

The three will have another serious conversation coming soon. Maybe we can get Brett to go all Alpha again.

One of my well-known sprawling chapters. Readers either like them or hate them. Hopefully, people realize all the events are interconnected and they flow well. It's getting to the point I need to start wrapping up some story arcs and this chapter did a little. We now know where the grandparents will be for the next few years. And that Ritchie thinks his girlfriend's a shark!

I try to humanize my characters as much as possible. Mine are feel-good, positive stories, but shit happens and people disagree. When we already know the two arguing have tempers, we can expect sparks to fly.

Y'all just like it way too much when there's a hint of violence. Unfortunately, CJ rarely resorts to fists these days. I miss the good old day when I could have him beat up people. He comes close in the next chapter

I'll have you know C&B will appear in the next three chapters again. Varying degrees of involvement, but they'll be there.
