@ranchered Luckily for me, food allergies disappeared as I got older. Sounds as if yours have gotten worse.- 10 comments

June CSR Discussion Day: Dolphin Delivery by Carlos Hazday
Carlos Hazday commented on Cia's blog entry in Gay Authors News
@Mrsgnomie I'm game as long as there are no anthills in the area. I live in the tropics, plants bloom constantly, and environmental allergies are common. As for my aversion to romances, I think I read too many when I discovered there were stories not meant to be read one-handed online. After a while, I found many were repetitive and predictable. If nothing else, they inspired me to keep things fresh in my work. I've written about coming out and rejection due to being gay, but I've also written violence and recently a small spy thriller. I think readers return to my stories because they never know what I may pull. Coming soon... Never mind. Can't be giving away ALL my plans.- 10 comments

June CSR Discussion Day: Dolphin Delivery by Carlos Hazday

Glad you enjoyed my responses and the story! Have you read the reports on doctors trying to combat allergies in kids? Parents are supposed to feed them tiny amounts of peanut butter, increasing over time to build tolerance. Same with me and romance stories, small dose. VERY small doses. The interview responses should reinforce your perception after beta reading for me. I'm a smart ass, foul-mouthed, political animal. Oh, wait, that's not me. That's CJ!- 10 comments

@chris191070 Thanks! The stories were a way to try something new, and I enjoyed writing them. Here's hoping one day someone uses them as the part of a curriculum to teach younger children about the environment.- 10 comments

Sometimes, it requires only a few words to get the purpose/theme of the chapter down; that's when I usually post two chapters close together. Of course, there's always the option of limiting chapter length on purpose. I did it with Singer, limiting chapters to 1k each. I liked the approach while most readers disliked it. One of the great things about GA is the opportunity to experiment. I've done that frequently. My advice's to try new approaches until you settle with something that feels comfortable.

Wanna come back to my place? I'll show you my outlines...

@Myr Yeah, yeah, yeah... I'm recruiting anthology virgins in my free time. Somebody told me this morning I better write a story about certain recent judicial decisions. Am I like the designated author for writing about controversial matters? I'm considering the request... 😆

I'm in. Mine's already written.

Featured Story: CDMX by Carlos Hazday
Carlos Hazday commented on wildone's blog entry in Gay Authors News
@Gary L Gracias, mi amigo. I knew I had to return to CJ because what happened in Mexico was important to his and Owen's future. But I'm glad I took a break and wrote the spinoffs and spinins. They allowed me to recharge my batteries and come up with new cliffhangers exiting endings. I'm doing it again for the next few months. Keep an eye out for a bunch of short stories. -
Thanks! I kept thinking about the story name after your comment and realized I'd kept the original. I think it grew on me. So, in a coming story I mention a trip to Disney World... 4 adults, 1 eight year-old, 1 seven year-old, 4 four year-olds, and one 3-year-old. I suspect alcohol may be needed in large amounts.
-
Thanks, Jeff! Although I'll try not to overwhelm readers with too much sightseeing again, I'll include bits about the city in future chapters. I felt more were appropriate in this one because he had just moved. With a brother, his wife, and their two daughters living in Atlanta, I have people to rely on for local flavor. LOL
-
Good! That was an extreme delay, but I've learned it's not always good to spill ALL the beans right away. It keeps things interesting when I don't. LOL
-
I hope at some point J and K get to vist Pinnacle. Not that I'm vindictive or anything, but dear old dad deserves to be shown up. I volunteer to help write insults.

Love this one. I have a golf outing outlined in connection with a wedding, and I'm so using sclaff to describe one of my character's play. -
Fascinating how you invoke Hemingway and booze when I just mentioned him in a scene at Sloppy Joe's in Key West. And I recently outlined one planning to write a little about him. That would happen during a day drinking outing. I'm leaning toward mojitos at La Bodeguita del Medio, but daiquiris at El Floridita are also an option! Rum, Gin, Scotch, Tequila... Ernie was an equal opportunity partier.

I love to share junk I know about, and what I learn when researching a story. It's always a struggle trying to find a good balance between too much and too little, but in this chapter I threw caution to the wind. One of my longest ones ever.

Who says gay fiction can't be educational about something other than sex? LOL I watched something on TV involving a puggle and drew on it when I wanted to establish a connection between Liebe and Fab. They're cute critters.
-
As with CJ, Owen, and Liebe, Fab will be the reason for a lot of the decisions Thiago makes. Let's see how long I can keep the two tracks going and where they (and future children) end up? t
-
As with turning Thiago into another avid explorer, I don't want him being as political as CJ. However, the crap going on with elections in Georgia, and a certain crazy woman (Marjorie Taylor Greene) claiming in 50 years there won't be straight people left in the country, I'll have to deal with this year's elections in the next chapter.
-
I'm unsure how long I'll keep Thiago in Atlanta. but I'd like to have CJ, Owen, and Harley meet him in North Georgia and cross into North Carolina and visit the Eastern Cherokee lands. I did when I rode my bike in the area.
-
She could always make an appearance later. After all, Thiago's working at a hospital! Are you back? If you are, we need to chat.
-
And considering it's pride month, I'm not about to hide my 'thing' for wizards. I've come out as a Harry Potter fan!
-
Guilty as charged. LOL
-
One of the reasons I created Debbie was the chance to explore divorce a bit. I've dealt with it with gay men involved, but in an oblique way. Since so many of my damn characters are in stable, monogamous relationships, Thiago and Debbie will let me show how their kids deal with the situation.
