  1. This link is a Light Pollution Map of the world. If you are in a very Light Area, the further into the country side you need to go, or out to sea. Sometimes a high place will help. It you can go, it should be a brillant display.

  3. Have you forgotten the Mann Act as amended in 1986 applies to crossing a state line to both sexes and minors. This has been applied to homosexual relationships, where the a sexual offense according to one of all the applicable states. ie if your boyfriend in any state you cross is a minor, or homosexual activity is an offense, you have broken the Mann Act. Good luck, in avoiding this, I reckoned that it was impossible?
  4. Dyslexica varies in type and strength, this is my own experience. I can recognise indivual letters, but have difficulty with words and tend to read phrases. I may understand a sentence but not be able say the sentence. Just as the redunacy in words, enables people to read rubbish, there is enough redunacy normally to understand sentences without ambiguity. The paragraphs above are more difficult to understand than perhap you, but possible. What effects me more are fonts. courier is unreadable, times roman is perfect colour of the font is important, red is best (Nick please note) paper or screen. Screen is best(back illumination) Hearing or spoken. I can understand Zeeland Dutch (Zuid Holland Dutch is more difficult) Speaking it is impossible. That I hope, gives you a taste.
  5. My first sight of this picture was in 1964~ when in a party of school boys, we were in Paris for 14 days. It was part of my introduction to real art. We had done all the sights, and as we were in a dormitory for catholic boys destiny for the priesthood in the 6eme arrondissement, so we went to Saint Germain Church. The church was covered by Flandrin and his studios
  6. My dealings with this pictureLink was a long time ago, there may be newer information available. Jean-Hippolyte Flandrin painted this picture when he was in Rome on a Postgraduate course, with Ingres as his master. There is no indication that Flandrin was gay. He had a wife and two kids and there was no scandal. It was a time and school where life studies were encouraged so that classical garb could be portrayed correctly. It would be incorrect that he did more than his fair share of male nudes. It has been suggested that the picture was a result of a class where the male model was posed by Ingres. And that his star pupil produced the best picture. It is also suggested that it was done as a compliment to Ingres
  7. When I first saw this drawing I though the drawing was beautiful. I though the addition of wings was wonderful. When it was used to headline the story, I thought the idea was a masterpiece. I saw the original or copy of the youth in Paris in 63/64. To me the drawing of birgsofafeather is better. Jeune Homme Nu Assis au Bord de la Mer by Jean-Hippolyte Flandrin
  8. Congratulations Dave on Getting Hosted Link Davey
  9. UM UM I think that is Gals (US Liquid)>Litre just multiply by 3.7854 Gals (UK Liquid)>Litre just multiply by 4.5460 PS just wait until you have to convert US cups to English cups to Metric cups To New Zealand cups. That is mind confusing
  10. I totally agree with Jamessavik, in that the streets are dangerous. Everybody knows that, but teenagers are still desperate, and at least 2 or 3 a week come to London UK and end up on the streets. Social Services and Care are also not very good. It is best to stay with family or with friends of your own age. However, if you are desperate, in England, try the Albert Kennedy Trust Link They MAY be able to help. Red
  11. and it is congratulations to Krista on the new shared hosted author status. And here is the link http://members.gayauthors.org/krista/
  12. First I must point out that it is illegal for anybody under 18 in the UK to get a tattoo. Anybody under 21 has to provide proof that they are over 18. Unfortunately, recently there are some tattoo artists especially in the London Area, who will tattoo under 18s, and these customers have had health problems. There, that is the official warning done. Personally, I strongly dislike people with tattoos. This is the result of a group of people who had tattoos, who wanted to kick the living shit out of me for being Queer. I recognise that this is my failing not Yours. However, there are people who will discriminate. So if you want a tattoo think about you audience. Will your boyfriend, like it, will you Japanese Boss like it. Will the fine detail multi coloured design disintegrate with time. I am not against tattoos; I just like you to think carefully.
  13. And I think that Kevin AFriendlyFace should be congratulated for reading all the stories, giving them a small review, creating the appropiate threads and or links, all in the last 24 hours. I have only managed to read two out of the 14 stories.

  15. My Choices For a School Reading List When I saw Little Bubbha suggestion of Lord of the Flies, I was shocked as this book was my school reading book and resulted in me turning away from formal English Literature and the majority of my classmates stopped reading books. Since I have never criticized anybody without, unless I could do better, here is my recommendations. Some of them are turkeys. I chose them, to illustrate points of interest. But first, I must give you some of my background. I was brought up in Swansea Wales, when all the good modern books were science fiction. I was and am still slightly dyslexic and have some problems communicating with people. I am also notorious in getting 98% in any maths exam. When I read, I do not read every single word but sentences, or groups of words. I was brought up to follow the teachings of the Religious Society of Friends. So with that information, you can judge the following. The books have been chosen to illustrate how writing style have changed and I have deliberated chosen light books not heavy themes, as this could put off younger or immature people. After all reading should be for fun and pleasure. Futher pleasure can come later when examination of the mechanism of writing is understood, and fun dissection can be done. I have where possible suggest basic questions and give additional hints for source of information. English thru the Years The Bible King James version, Song of Solomon http://bible.cc/ http://kjv.biblebrowser.com/songs/1-1.htm This is for language only; there is no underling moral or religious theme. Read all of the Songs Look at other versions of Song of Solomon Chapter 1 only. What is your opinion on the differences in the translations? Why do you think this has occurred? How would you translate it especially verses 1 to 6. Shakespeare Mid Summer
