  1. Winter did not fall upon the Judean hills; it slammed into them with the bruising, unforgiving force of a swung mace. The arid, baking heat that had defined the Vanguard’s march down the Levantine coast was violently swept away by freezing, torrential rains and a biting, relentless wind that howled through the narrow, ancient streets of Bethlehem. The sky turned the color of bruised iron, and the jagged limestone ravines surrounding the town filled with treacherous, icy mud. For the Fa
  2. there it is, thanks mate!
  3. Odd, that is not it, On the side of my screens when looking at the title page of a book there would be a small widget/box (similar to what you do for Recommendations) which featured Chapters weekly, monthly, yearly and All time. It is no longer there, this is a new thing. So I am confused if I turned it off in a setting.
  4. I am probably tired, missing something, or have clicked something. There used to be a box on the right of the screen that contained how many chapters per week, month, year and all time. I was using that as a gauge to my performance, and to keep track of my productivity. Has that been removed now? Moved? Can we have it back?
  5. Kylix-A-Gort-Iganal-Brix's head throbbed with the dull, rhythmic ache of a high-velocity impact, followed closely by the disorienting, gravity-defying hangover of being forcibly dragged through a trans-dimensional sub-space fold. He groaned, his throat dry and tasting faintly of ozone and antibacterial gel. He tried to rub his eyes, only to discover that his wrists were bound tightly behind his back. He tried to kick his legs, only to find his ankles similarly restricted to the heavy, meta

    Chapter 9

Ashot is going to learn that his Steffy is not his property, and needs to be treated nicer. I think it is Ashot's way of showing affection, and needs a bit of a correction. He loves Stephen very dearly, just doesn't know how to express it appropriately in a way that is healthy. Dad Darien is going to have to have a word, before Lloyd does, or worse Mamma Bear grabs him by the ear.

    Chapter 9

Darien's army is smaller than the Vizier's... but it is far better trained, better equipped, and holds the strategic high ground and the choke point of all of Fatamid reinforcement and resupply. Forcing Jerusalem to resupply off of the land. And considering the Fatamids hold the city, Darien holds the sea, and the Seljuk Empire holds the North and East, the Vizier is waking up to a Perfect Siege, and an awful lot of mouths to feed. Tancred employed this strategy, but historically Darien marched a year earlier than Tancred did, which makes Darien's siege of Jerusalem far more effective he gets a year to enforce it before the main army arrives.

    Chapter 9

And Radoslav abandons, and betrays Darien yet again. The fracture is complete, the old oaths are broken Prince Darien rules his kingdom now not as Radoslav's vassal But as his equal.
  10. The Levantine coast surrendered to the Vanguard not with the clash of steel, but with a grueling, relentless war of attrition against the sun and the dust. For a week after their bloodless, highly lucrative departure from the wealthy island city of Tyre, the army of the Silver Boar marched south with the terrifying, mechanical precision of a Roman legion. The thousand heavy infantrymen, their captured Seljuk lamellar dyed in the deep green and silver of their newly forged brotherhood, moved
  11. "Did someone say POWERFUL, and bribe WITH SNACKS?"
  12. The Veth are awful, their views on sentient life are despicable. It can be argued that Mickey has done Kyle a favour. Kyle doesn't see it this way, but Micky might argue it... while running from a string of Veth patrol ships desperate to castrate him.
  13. An idea that Kyle will find just and fair! #Freeprobingforkyle!
  14. One thing has changed, Isaiah doesn't give up. Dimitri has a parent that isn't going anywhere.

    Book TWO
  16. The Veth are mildly annoyed... Mickey being Mickey, has somehow managed to create an interstellar incident... AGAIN
  17. The pilot's chair of the Vega Vixen III had molded itself to Isaiah Bell's body over eighteen months of constant use. The cracked leather had softened in all the right places. The armrests bore the faint impression of his elbows. The seat had conformed to his spine in a way that was almost, but not quite, uncomfortable—like a hug from someone who wasn't entirely sure you wanted to be hugged. He wasn't sitting in it. Dimitri Ryder-Bell was. Eleven years old, all elbows and knees
  18. The Alcubierre drive was, theoretically speaking, a masterpiece of higher-dimensional physics. A marvel of spatial folding that allowed a vessel to slip the surly bonds of light-speed and ride the very fabric of the universe itself. An instrument of precision, requiring delicate calibration, profound mathematical understanding, and a gentle, coaxing hand at the helm. Mickey Ryder drove it like a stolen cargo skiff with a stuck throttle and a busted transmission. *"You are riding the
  19. A washed-up captain steals an alien saucer, crashes it into a pre-spaceflight civilization, and accidentally abducts a terrified teenage local. Now he's stranded with a hostile hostage, a sarcastic AI, and a teleporter that turns livestock inside out. To make things worse, his estranged husband is tracking him across the galaxy—and the real owners of the ship want everyone dead. A chaotic sci-fi romp about bad decisions, found family, and learning that running from your problems just creates bigger ones.
