    Chapter 27

They have no idea he is there. The ship only arrived after the explosion, I think for the most parts the mercenaries are unaware of what's gone on aboard the submarine. All communications have gone through K-171 to RAF Boulmer. So all they really know is that there has been an explosion and the boat is being evacuated. It stands to reason that since Enrico has no idea that the plan has gone awry, no changes in orders have been issued.

    Chapter 5

Well this book just hit 75,000 words, which is my personal achievement marker. It's about 2/5ths of the way through the story, and I am nearly done with the material I had previously written and the revisions. So new material for it should begin in a few minutes. Again, I wrote a lot of this years ago, so it's not like I just banged out 75000 words in a week, I'm a fast writer but not that fast. Stoker surprises me, a lot, in these pages. Wojciech's the predictable steadfast typical character in one of my books, but there's always one... Elias in The Falcon Banner, Luke, Ezra, etc... that decide to hijack my plot and tell their own story. That random little piece of utter chaos that brings a bit of magic to a bit of writing.

Heck, I don't think Andrew's even realized that he's going to be there yet.

    Chapter 27

I mean, if you are four mercenaries that need to do nefarious things on a Submarine, wouldn't you wait until most of the people that can stop you have gotten off it?
  5. K-171 Dmitry Donskoy – Periscope Depth, North Sea The Control Room of the K-171 Dmitry Donskoy was a sanctuary of unnerving calm. The low, blue glow of its consoles illuminated the faces of its crew, each man a model of silent, professional concentration. Outside the thick titanium hull, the immense pressure of the North Sea was a constant, crushing presence, but inside, the submarine was a silent, stable island in a sea of chaos. At the center of it all stood Captain Vasily Volkov, hi

Hall of Mirrors - Æuum – Alpha Site He awoke feeling the warmth of another person intimately pressed against him. It wasn’t a jarring awakening, but rather a slow, comfortable drift from sleep, a lingering sense of peace that had been absent for what felt like an eternity. At some point in the night, they had evidently drifted together, seeking and finding a shared source of heat, a quiet, unconscious comfort against the

Yeah, I think EVERYone did that back then though. We all expected Hillary to beat Trump based on her experience. We underestimated her arrogance, and Trumps ability to exploit and leverage everything. Honestly I still think Trump didn't actually expect to win the first time around. Maybe projecting South Park's take on it there.

  12. Euston Station, London, United Kingdom The fluorescent lights of Euston Station hummed with the steady, indifferent energy of a new day. But to Gregory Templeman, who had been here since the early hours, it felt like a silent, frozen crime scene. He moved from one service counter to the next, a single, grainy CCTV still held in his hand, a ghost of a man captured in a bad angle. "Do you recognize him?" he asked, his voice low, his patience wearing thin. "Seen him in here recently? Late ni

    Chapter 5

Essentially, Will was put into compounding situations that caused him to have a Nervous Breakdown. Will was trying to put Andrew through school, pressures of a wedding, and a Job that was carving out his soul. Lisa saved him by finding him a better job, but the job required him to move to Toronto. You are picking up the story in this one after he has moved.

    Chapter 18

It's the hybridization of the technology. The Polians, in my mind, relied heavily on lesser races after Skyella. And the Amsus already had ships that could stand up to the Imperials, this merely gave them the upper hand for once in the fight.

    Chapter 4

Hall of Mirrors - Æuum – Alpha Site Sand stretched endlessly along the shore, a vibrant counterpoint to the deep green jungle and the rhythmic crash of crystal blue waves. The air hung heavy and humid, thick with the scent of unfamiliar blossoms and the faint, briny tang of the ocean. Overhead, a chorus of exotic birds chirped and trilled, their calls a riot of sound that felt alien and overwhelming. The sun beat down, an unrelenting, golden hammer, makin

    Chapter 3

These two characters are wonderfully touching. Just took them in chapter 17 to Birmingham Pride in 2010. And it's amazing to think about what two people from those times would think of it. Profoundly gratifying to write. There are plenty that feel that Pride doesn't serve a purpose any more, but for me at least, it's for people just like these two.

  23. HMS Acheron – 300 meters Down Andrew awoke with a gasp, his eyes snapping open. He was cold, utterly, profoundly wet, and disoriented, his head throbbing with a dull, insistent ache. The air smelled faintly of antiseptic and recycled air, a sharp contrast to the salt and ozone he remembered from... where? He squinted, the emergency red lights of the medical bay casting long, alien shadows across the unfamiliar bulkheads. A face, blurred at the edges, leaned over him, a hand gently touching his

    Chapter 3

Middlesex – Late Summer – 1837 It was a profound relief for Wojciech when Stoker, the young gamekeeper, finally lowered the shotgun, tucking it with a practiced ease over his arm. The tension that had coiled in Wojciech’s stomach began to unwind as Stoker doffed his cap, a gesture of unexpected deference. "Sorry, sorr," the gamekeeper mumbled, his gaze softening as if he’d just decided the stranger was indeed a gentleman and not another of the troublesome poachers. "It's just I've been 'avin
