    Prologue

Billy won't let Wesley have one, says they don't even have a pool. (Pretty sure it's because Billy doesn't like competition)
  2. These are a series of vignettes that show how Warren loves Tom. I wanted to try to get a good slice of their life together. How the relationship grows from stupid teenagers through to something more mature. As stated, Tom's view of himself is abjectly wrong, and Warren proves it to him.
  3. awwwww now I'm going to have fuzzy dreams of Ferrari's, Hawaiian shirts, and furry abs....

    Chapter 1

I think Gabriel's doing a simply fine job of it, note the manners Mr. Weatherby and Simms discussed as part of Hawthorne's changes.
  5. He's going to be sent to his room, WITH his switch, and an extra helping of pie. "You're very naughty... grounded for an hour. with Privileges... shh don't tell your papa."
  6. He's going to make one heck of an Investigative Reporter, providing he doesn't get arrested first.
  7. MONDAY The ceiling of the psychiatric ward was an endless, suffocating expanse of institutional beige, interrupted only by the water stains. Caleb Holloway had meticulously counted them yesterday during the long, agonizing hours of the afternoon, and he counted them again now as consciousness forcefully dragged him upward through the heavy, lingering fog of his chemical withdrawal. Seventeen irregular, jaundiced rings spread outward across the porous acoustic tiles, looking exactly l
  8. Ahh Chet, never change.
  9. Chet having to watch, banished to the heterosexual table of shame.
  10. I enjoyed writing this one. Chet did everything wrong, and Warren did everything right. He's some how managed to save the day, make new friends, and win the boy of his dreams while beating the Prom King at a wedding.
  11. You know Warren's been practicing that dance, in his head... badly
  12. Ch02 Three months is exactly enough time to convince yourself that a catastrophe isn't actually going to happen. It is ninety days of aggressive, sustained denial. Ninety days of waking up, looking at the calendar, and thinking, Surely, someone is going to stop this. Surely, an adult with a functioning prefrontal cortex is going to step in and put an end to this absolute circus. But no one did. And so, exactly three months after Warren successfully held up my 7/11 with a neon green

    Prologue

Not quite that bad. I mean Ben is a psychopath, and Max is more... just really bright and utterly bored.

    Prologue

Ahhh we have slightly different definitions here. Bullying is a form of endearment in English schools. But I think there are levels of it. Mr. Alan Simms is an example of one of those teachers that never quite grew out of the bullied kid in school, and some kids can smell that on a teacher. Mr. Weatherby knows how to get boys like Max in line.
  19. Warren is Captain Dork
  20. Oh man, I can see that going over like a lead balloon.

    Chapter 1

Max's dialogue, when it came out, had that 11 year old going on 40 thing. So rather than rewriting, I leaned into it heavily. I was, I fear, a bit of a Max. Far too clever for my own good, and my boyfriend Matt, completely undid me every time. It was... amusing when the teachers cottoned on and started ensuring we had class together. He used to keep me in line. I had no clue at the time, but looking back on it now, it's clear as day what they were doing. Ahh Matt, goofy, utterly unimpressed with my antics. I'd brag, he'd ignore me. I'd strut, he'd tell me to sit down. I'd get annoyed with teachers who couldn't spell, he'd call me a pedant, and demand I check the grammar of his homework... He had me completely under control.
