Chapter One: Form 8A: Declaration of Infinite Assets
The waiting room of the Croydon Ministry of the Occult was exactly what you would get if someone designed Hell specifically to annoy accountants.
Taine sat in a plastic chair that had been molded to the exact shape of maximum discomfort—the kind of chair that made you acutely aware of every minute you spent in it, that pressed against your spine in ways that would eventually require chiropractic intervention. The fluoresce
Prologue: Locally Sourced, Ethically Devoured
The churchyard at the edge of Leamington Spa had been abandoned since the incident.
That was how the town's collective consciousness had decided to process the events of the Love Apocalypse, as Matt had dubbed it. The official story was a gas leak. Multiple gas leaks. With "romantic complications." The cleanup crews had come, the rubble had been cleared, the standing stones had been hauled away to some Ministry facility where they w
A carnivorous god is rising in Leamington Spa. His magical meat turns eaters into monsters, his pet plant just attacked a vegan café, and he's got his sights set on the undead boy who dared to choose tofu dogs over his "sacred" flesh. Now a philosophy professor in a teenager's body, his wrestler boyfriend, an anxious warlock with a dramatic demon in his head, and a sun-kissed cherub with a very personal grudge must burn Edgar's operation to the ground—before the whole town becomes his next meal.

Months had passed since the stop over in Messina, the ships had wound on their course through the sea, finally letting their armies reach the shores of the Byzantine Empire, and the long march to the capital. Months of routine, of training, of order imposed at the camp. A discipline that came with the realization that they were marching unto war vibrated through the men as they settled into it with hardened resolve.
The ride to the palace was the longest mile of Darien's life.
It's funny, Darien gets a bit mother hen, until Val smacks him upside the head and tells him to let Wylan flourish on his own two legs... and Wylan stands firm. He and Julian are one hell of a team on the battlefield, they work out very quickly that they predict each other, and it's a nice evolution. Julian is one to watch for, great best friend for Wylan.
I never had a dog, my father, as those that know, would have used one as leverage and control. He would buy dogs, they'd last a few weeks, and then he'd get rid of them because he was never able to get them to like him... The dogs were smarter than he was, and they knew what that bastard was all about.
I was always a cat person, I had a cat, a giant thing, all muscles that I was his person. HATED everyone else, but I was his. I adored that cat.
Tyler and Charlie have ZERO interest in each other. Tyler's always been more attracted to Taine's soul than his looks. And Charlie isn't into muscle jocks... so... probably not the solution.
It gets resolved, as it has to. Tyler, wonderful Tyler, isn't stupid and he knows. But he is also surprising and very much the man we've come to love. So trust the Tyler, the Tyler knows what to do.
That ends book 2 and sets up book 3:

Chapter Fourteen: Epilogue — The Aftermath
Three days later, Leamington Spa was deep in the grip of its most powerful supernatural force: aggressive British denial.
The pink dome might as well never have existed. The love-crazed revelers? A collective hallucination, clearly. The giant flesh monster that had briefly consumed half the town before exploding into a thousand confused, naked people? Absolutely not discussed, thank you very much. The *Leamington Observer* ran a fro
This complication for Wylan ends up causing Darien a few issues, but given how he feels about Wylan, that man will protect the boy he's become attached to.
