The Vexin is terrorized by a monster. Two boys must find a way to slay the Dragon that is terrorizing the Vexin, or convince the Lord of the Vexin that the creature is real. Milo, an inventor, and Guillaume a hunter - both outcasts of their village, desperately try to save everyone that rejected them for who they are.

That's book one Please leave a review, tap the recommend button (Black button, looks like a medal, right below where the like/love/thumbs up icons are in a chapter) Looks like this : Every time you do, you help me improve visibility and let me know how I am doing. This is my first ever historical/fantasy book. I hope it worked and that you liked it. There are two more of the holy Crusade to go - The Holy Lance of Antioch, and The Lord of the Pierced Dawn. Then one about Darien's son Atreus - The Vanguard of the Silver Boar. One about Prince Ishan - Lost in the Sand (for @Seraph28 ) and one entitled Milo and the Dragon (It's about ser Val and a severe case of mistaken identity).

Ch20 The city of Mamistra had settled into an uneasy peace. The Armenian citizens went about their business, the Turkish garrison was a memory, and the men of Lord Haskal's vanguard had finally, for the first time in weeks, slept in real beds. Darien stood outside the requisitioned governor's residence, watching the sun rise over the walls, and tried to remember the last time he had felt clean. He could not. The summons had come at dawn. Lord Haskal wanted to see him.

Taine was a bit of a Tool in this one, but as Tyler said, he needs to sort his shit out. The next book is about exactly that... well... with a few complications. Lynix goes backpacking in Italy. Pip gets the Time Share. Hilarity ensues. Simon gets his real name back..

Baron Haskal is the antithesis of most of the Crusader Lords. I try to write him as a man of honour, Darien's "Dad" in all the ways that count. Darien's real father, ser Mark was absent, dumping his kid off on his liege lord. (Baroness Adela is amazing... we get to see her Raising Atreus FitzDarien later in the series. and she knows her boys). Haskal stepped up, and continues to raise his "son" to be a leader in his own right. Sorry I have both Darien and Haskal replace Lord Tancred, who did the things they do over the course of the story. Fascinating man, but not without his own... issues.

Baldwin II was celebrating... and you know ser Val's going to turn up with a Frankish marching band and direct them to march right over the ditch they tossed him in.
