Cameron's struggling with himself.

Part 1 My stomach began to quiver, and this overwhelming rush of unprecedented humiliation washed over me so fast that it nearly knocked me down! I couldn't believe that he had done it! I couldn't believe that he had put one of my most PRIVATE drawings up on the bulletin board for everybody in the SCHOOL to see! I was speechless. Literally speechless! "How....how could you do this to me?" I said, looking over at Gideon who was still grinning proudly to himself. "Do what?" He asked. "

Part 1 The next morning, I woke up with my hand aching and my body crying out for just a few more minutes of sleep. I looked at the alarm clock, and realized that I had only gone to bed three hours ago, give or take fifteen minutes. The time flew by in a single blink, the cradle of sleep caressing me until my reality was so rudely interrupted by the clock next to my bed. The second I stopped the alarm from blaring loudly in my ear, I closed my eyes and felt myself being lulled into a deep sle

Part 1 Two weeks. Fourteen days, 336 hours, 20,160 seconds...however you want to look at it, it's all the same. Funny, it seems as though I felt every last one of those seconds tick by individually, counting them as though I had nothing better to do other than breathe. Two weeks into the new school year. Is that long enough for me to fall back into my old stupid routine without breaking the ultimate promise that I had made to myself to change? To finally become somebody different...somebody b

= "5CBC" SCHEDULE FOR OCT/NOV/DEC =

Yeah, I know the feeling. Sometimes all the effort seems like a waste of time. But it's really HARD to get people to participate in these things. God knows I try my hardest on all the boards. It's like pulling 'greased' teeth with a pair of salad tongs sometimes. But I really would love to keep this going if we can. I have four stories reviewed in my files so far (They're pretty long), and I want to post one a day over the next week. So you'll get seven reviews from me for sure. Maybe it'll get some of the other readers to peek their heads out for a little bit and join us. :: fingers crossed :: Here's hoping... If not, I don't know...I'll try to do it on my lonesome when I get te chance. Oh...and "Door Number Three" has been added. I replaced "A Different Road" on the current list. Cool? ((hugz)) Thanks for helping out so much Agin! I'll find a way to work harder and pull them in somehow. I'll get my wheels spinning right after the holidays. -
It's there. In my blood. Beckoning me to go just a little bit further. With so much pain going on outside of this trailer...so much agony...so many tears...the shadows welcome me with open arms. A sanctuary. A temporary place to hide from the misery. The darkness in me tells me that I am strong. That I am wise. That I am in control. It is not the fact that it lies...but the fact that the darkness cares enough to lie that strokes my ego and causes it to flare out on all sides. A spiritual ra

While my body was slowly winding down, attempting to recover from its battle with Alec...my spirit still felt as though it was alive. Burning white hot with a fire that I had never known. Every inch of me felt as though it was charged with electricity. A power reserved for a deity. There's something so alluring about wielding an energy source so infinite. My fingertips ached with the temptation to destroy something around me...just for the thrill of watching it burn. It made me want to lash

The shadows strengthened Alec from within...EAGER to be a part of his turbulent storm of unrestricted hatred. They found no pulled punches, no limit of expression, in his rambunctious tantrums. Not like they did in me. Alec gave them an open outlet for all the rage and turmoil that they contained within their pain enveloped souls. Feeding him. Becoming overtaken by their misery and using it to grow stronger. And as the shadows fled from my personal world of 'rules and limitations'...they buil

There was an unimaginable silence that covered us all. I don't think Dylan had fully accepted the shocking truth of his actions yet. His big bright eyes were stretched wide open, his body quickly going numb...and when he looked down at the long, sharp, pipe sticking out of his chest, covered in his own blood...he began to cry involuntarily. Heated tears, sad sniffles, as the realization began to slowly sink into his mind. It was almost as if he didn't understand. As if his innocence refused

It began with a pulse of unimaginable power...surging through me, from my shoulders, down my arms, and then glowing warmly in the palms of my hands. It starts off feeling like you're holding a loaded gun in your hands. A smoking firecracker with a very short fuse left before detonation. Most would fantasize that having such power at your fingertips would be 'exhilarating'. But the truth is, it's quite the opposite. It's frightening. Beyond anything that you've ever known. Because you can only

I felt my tears running warm down both cheeks...as I felt my best friend's hand clasped gently in mine. So lifeless. I had never felt him....so lifeless. It was the first time since he had first gotten sick...that Richie didn't greet me with a smile. He simply didn't have the strength. Not even for me. He lay unconscious in that bed, his breathing was so faint. I used my other hand to lovingly pet the top of his head. Then feeling his cheek. He had lost even more weight, and his skin wa

The whole world seemed to fall silent around me. Even the wind ceased to blow....as my mind attempted to struggle with the idea that my human life and this world of endless night were about to collide in a profound way. And Richie was going to be caught in the middle. A sacrificial lamb for MY mistakes. What I was feeling began as fear. Helplessness. Guilt. Worry. But as Taryn and the others looked on...those feelings began to change. Transforming into something...else. Something...an

Standing there, staring at the dust and rubble of Tim's collapsed house, I couldn't help but feel a certain level of despair in the center of my heart. A hopelessness. Whatever feelings of trust and salvation that I had built here...in this once magical place...had been torn down in an instant. By something wicked. Something unimaginably foul. And I doubted that I'd ever get it back again. As much as I wanted it...it was gone forever. All of us stepped forward, seeing late night constructio

"Taryn...I need to talk to you for a moment." Bryson said, and I noticed that Doc sorta hid his laptop screen from him when he came close. I take it that this extra 'investigation' into what the Jeweler was up to was one of those little things we shouldn't be doing. "Doc, any luck getting a hold of the Jeweler?" "No, Bryson. Not yet" He said, and peeked over at me as if to silently tell me to keep my mouth shut. "Well, keep trying. The sooner we get Justin's abilities under control, the

Walking out of that long, dark, alley...my mind remained fixed on the carnage I had seen. And the carnage I had caused. And I was amazed at how much the frequent practice of being around this much death an darkness had softened the blow. It was such a strange feeling. Already, I could feel the guilt of what I had done lifting itself off of my shoulders Already...I was beginning to forget. To suppress. To ignore. After all the struggle and moral conflict that I had gone through leading up to my

It was almost like watching the sun darken before your very eyes during an eclipse. Taryn's posture changed, his footsteps became lighter on the pavement...almost inaudible, and his eyes replaced their once innocent sparkle with the sinister focus of a true demon. His breathing fell quiet, and I watched as his carefully measured steps began to slide with a confident swagger that displayed nearly eleven years of involuntary instinct. Oh yes...he was well 'practiced' indeed. I did manage to k

Seemingly overjoyed, the Jeweler wrote back with excited text. "Excellent! We will begin making preparations for your arrival immediately. I will contact with a time and place as soon as possible." I didn't like this. I didn't like the idea of it all. I felt as though I was being 'pushed'. Forced into a corner where my only option was to take the hand of a potential threat in order to survive. But instead of letting him on to my worries, I simply wrote back, "I'll be ready." To which he

I couldn't help but stare helplessly at the page for a few minutes more...my hands trembling at the sight of such a tragedy drawn with so much detail. But when I saw Dylan hurrying back from the candy store next door to come back to the laundromat, I was quick to rip the picture in half and crumple up both pieces into tight little wads of wrinkled paper. Dylan playfully hopped his little butt up on the counter beside me with a smile and opened the bag of candy with a grin. "You sure you don

To explain what I felt as I slept through the daylight hours of the day would be nearly impossible. It wasn't a 'dream' so much, as it was a sudden level of inner conscious. A wakefulness that alerted me to something...'not quite me'...in my own mind. It might have been Alec, feverishly seeking me out with every extra at his disposal. It might have been the Beast, rushing to regain enough strength to come back at me once again from the shadowed depths of my pain. It might have been this oth

I was carrying a crumpled up t-shirt under my arm when I came back up to the top of the church steps and up to the side door. I found a shirt that 'sorta' fit me in the lost and found bin, but it was a bit tight for my tastes. As I exited the door, I saw Dizz looking off into space as he waited for me to join him. He looked so worried. So concerned. After seeing an almost permanent smile on his face since we first met in that dingy old warehouse...he looked like a completely different person w

I watched the others move closer towards safety, and prepared myself for what was sure to be another attack. The vampires on the roof knew that they had been made. I heard their heartbeats begin to escalate, and the need for silence was gone. How did they find me? Are they tracking me? Or was it something about me exposing myself to wandering eyes just by leaving the lot? The very presence of danger was causing my hands to tremble all on their own. But not from fear. No...this was something

The circle was coming around exactly the way that it had been presented to me just moments earlier. Jeremy was standing right there, saying what he said before in my mind, word for word. And then the circle 'ended', and I felt like things were on autopilot again. I watched as Napolean inched closer with his head down, but when Torsten and Grim growled at him for getting too close to their owner, he quickly put his tail between his legs and scurried off back to Dion's truck where he'd be 'sa

I followed Jun around the corner to join him and Doc near Doc's chosen habitat. And I know that Dion and Gyro were following me, but they didn't say anything. I think they were still a bit bewildered about the 'circles' that I tried to bring to their attention. Hell, I was still trying to figure it out myself. But deep down, I was worrying myself to death. Wondering if this was how the madness begins. If this sudden....'awareness' of mine, mixed with the pain and suffering of my past was going
