"Overheard" I, honestly, don't know what Jared's problem is this Summer. I mean, are we best friends or not? Ever since the seventh grade, he's gotten increasingly…'weird' on me. Not all the time, but…in general, things just seemed to go a different way for some reason. Then we started high school, and now he's prone to moments where it feels like he couldn't be more distant from me if he tried. There were actually times when I started to wonder if we were even best friends anymore

It happens sometimes.... Even the best of friends can sometimes grow apart during their adolescent years. And it hurts Dylan even more when romantic feelings begin to blossom for the boy who you keep close to your heart. So when a new boy comes along to rival his favorite boy's attention, will Dylan find a way to regain his status in his sweetheart's eyes? Or will he lose it all to the cutie who has seemingly captured his affections?

I really do appreciate the effort, but honestly...if it was a 'money' situation, I'd defenitely be dancing for nickels at this point. ::Giggles:: Unfortunately, this is a 'techie' thing. I'm being FORCED to take an update that I don't want or need...and even when I turn the automatic updates off...Microsoft makes the older version so unuseable and so glitchy, that I HAVE to take the update in order for my laptop to work at all. I'm sort of at their mercy, and there's nothing that I can do about it. So even if I had another laptop, I'd be plagued with the same problems, regardless. But I am SUPER flattered by the offer rj777! Kiss! You've got me blushing now. I actually do have stuff saved to an external hard drive, and I'm saving everything again to that same hard drive. It's about 2 TB, so I should be ok. However, I do take full responsibility for not saving my stuff elsewhere more often. I guess I'm not paranoid ENOUGH??? Like...imagine if you were walking down the street with a close friend of yours...and he just wrapped his hands around your throat and started CHOKING you! LOL! And then, people were like, "Well, you should have been wearing a spiked collar or something! You need to be more paranoid! You should have just 'expected' that someone you trusted was going to randomly try to choke you to death and ruin your life. YOU'RE the idiot, here!" That's how it feels. I write thousands of words a day. I take notes. I save pics and videos. Do I save them all elsewhere just in case my computer shuts down on me for no reason at all? Nope. But that's my fault, I guess. I don't know. I'm trying to get better. I just wish I could trust technology to not do this to me every few months. It sucks. Grrrr! Now I HAVE heard about the Cloud...but I don't save stuff there. That's one thing that I really AM paranoid about, because my stories have erotic content. And that hasn't worked out so well for me in the past. In fact, if it weren't for Myr and GayAuthors, the Shack wouldn't even be online right now. I was saving all of my stuff to Tripod at one point, and they decided to purge all gay content from their server...and I lost EVERYTHING! With no warning whatsoever. The site, the stories, my notes...everything. So saving my stuff online with a 3rd party host is kind of an itchy process for me. The Cloud might randomly decide they don't want my stories on their server anymore and...'blink'...gone. But, all things aside, I want you guys to know that I'm in good spirits! I really am! And I'll post stuff once everything is downloaded, protected, and my laptop's update is fixed and functioning normally. Promise, k? Right now, I've saved 3692 video files out of 6072! Which is more than half! And once that's done, I'll have access to everything and will start posting again as soon as humanly possible! Thanks for being patient with me through all of this. You guys are the best! And don't worry...as inconvenient as all this might seem, it's far from being as tragic as I thought it would be at first glance. So I'm thankful. Hehehe! Seezya soon!

SO...My computer is still repairing and saving files to a secure location right now as you read this. And it is a **LOT** of stuff!!! Like I said, this update pretty much wiped my entire laptop clean of everything that I've done for the past two or three years, so I'm recovering whole terabytes worth of material at the moment. So far, all of the pics have been saved, all of the downloads, all of the documents, and all of my music, are now in a safe place. However, the VIDEOS are taking forever! I've been recovering videos for three days straight now, and it's only about half way done! Just over six THOUSAND of them! Some are just short clips short and movie trailers that I was making for the site, but a majority of them were full length movies and Netflix series, and they will definitely take some time to retrieve. The BAD part is...this Microsoft update has screwed my system up to the point where it is really REALLY slow! And that is making this process take ten times longer than it should. But the only way to fix it would be to uninstall and reinstall the entire update from scratch in the hopes of fixing it so I can speed up the process of getting my files back in order. But updating again may actually corrupt and overwrite the very files that I'm trying to save. So...it's sort of a no win situation for now. But I AM still here! And I try to (slowly) get my email to load up every few days or so. So I'm listening! I just want to get this over with so we can get back to business around here! Cool? The videos are the only thing that I'm waiting on now! Once they're done being moved to a safe location, I'll dive right back in to where we left off! To make things short for now, I am currently dealing with a near apocalyptic technology issue at the moment. So, i can only apologize for that. I wish I could say that it was all my fault, but that would be an easy fix. I just work harder and get things back together. But it was Microsoft that truly fucked me over (yet again), just minutes after I started putting out announcements for the July Issue of Imagine Magazine. It erased EVERYTHING on my laptop with some bullshit update that I didn't ask for or accept and took time to REFUSE automatic updates to avoid it. But they're a bunch of bullies that FORCE you to take it anyway, even if it destroys everything on your laptop all at once. Because...they wanna shove their new techy tricks down your throat whether you need it or not. Sigghhhh... Anyway, since the 15th, I've been scrambling to get my deleted files back and I have been lucky enough to find them again. (It cost me a LOT of money, though! Sighhh...a big chunk out of my 'go back to Chicago' fund), and that sucks, but I am working through this as quickly as humanly possible! K? I have the day off today, and I'm up at 6 AM to get started on trying to sort through over 1.5 terrabytes worth of music, documents, pictures, ebooks, ebook covers, story templates, videos, everything from Imagine Magazine, etc. It's a pain in the ass, but at least I didn't lose it all. So I'll count my blessings and just appreciate the fact that Microsoft's carelessness didn't result in me losing more hard work online than I even have a precedent for at this point. Anyway, this is what has been happening since last Monday. I'm still here. I'm fixing things as fast as I can, and I'll try to throw you you guys a bone or two as soon as a get a chance. ((Hugz)) I'm so SO sorry! I was blindsided by this, and one would think that Microsoft would be more responsible with their updates before obliterating every single file on somebody's laptop without permission. I guess I'm not paranoid enough. I guess I should back up my stuff three times a day. And...maybe I should carry a pistol with me to work every day. And a shot of adrenaline for my heart. And a katana sword in case I'm attacked by ninjas. And I should wear a hardhat everywhere I go in case I randomly get hit by a meteor from space. To be honest...I think I do. I don't exactly know how to feel about that. Because I don't really think of myself as a shallow person. And the haze of beauty doesn't distract me for long. I mean, if you're drop dead gorgeous...but your personality doesn't match the pretty giftbox that it came in, my infatuation fades pretty quickly. There have been some celebrities that I was like, WOW!!! And I can't wait to see them in an interview to hear them speak and get a feel for who they are. And I've been disappointed. Hehehe, like...well...he's still hot. Just...not much else." But, before knowing anything about them, when it comes to that first initial smack in the face with someone who is absolutely stunning? I feel like I DO give them more attention. I smile, and I flirt, and I cater to them sometimes. I don't know why, I just do. I've never had any serious hang ups about my own looks. I've never walked a modeling catwalk or anything, but I've received enough compliments to know that I'm nowhere near as ugly as I feel sometimes. In fact, a lot of those compliments are a little embarrassing for me, and I avoid them like the plague if I can. But...I feel like if I looked like some of the boys I've had major crushes on over the years, hehehe...I would have taken over the whole PLANET by now! LOL! Seriously! But I think a big part of beauty is confidence. And sometimes, it's just the ability to be comfortable in your own skin that allows you to come off as appealing and alluring to other people. Sure, there's something to be said about having all of your genetic molecules come together in an amazing way to make you a physical seduction from a distance...but you can't really know somebody from a distance. You certainly can't LOVE them from back there. So, while I have to admit to rewarding the pretty people with a bit of an advantage every now and then when it comes to my attention...it's all on the surface. After that, I'm looking more for the beauty on the inside, rather than on the outside. You can't just sprinkle sugar on shit and call it ice cream...you know?

So I'm putting a little extra work into the debut chapter of "The Plateau" tonight! I always get a little shaky before doing something new. But that's what the challenge was all about, so I'm buckling up for whatever may come of this. So far, I've got three chapters done...to be released once a week throughout July...and we'll see how it goes! I've got big things planned for this story, but it's magic and monsters and a whole new mythology to play around with, stuff that I've never really written before. So I'm gonna cross my fingers and hope for the best. Wish me luck! And I'll see you on the 4th! XD

Everybody is somebody else’s dream boy or dream girl, no matter what. But despite the varying tastes that exist within the eye of the beholder...there seems to be a certain status of beauty that seems to be agreed upon with the social majority. And our question is...how does this affect how you treat these people, or how they treat you? Think about it...are you nicer to someone who you find extremely cute? Do you make their needs a priority in your life? Do you rush in to make sure that they’re happy?
