“That it is mate, and why we enjoy doing the work. Our organisation is very new, and we are not all qualified scientist just yet, I am in the Army and I recently had a work accident, which has put a hold on my University studies, which is in the field of Biodiversity and Conservation plus Wildlife Conservation Biology. Our other two colleagues are also studying at the same university, which is Flinders, Chris is studying Veterinary Science and Surgery, while Will is studying Science in the f

Back at the campsite, we noticed that Uncle Nat had already retired for the night, so we did the same. The next morning, Uncle Nat was already up, and he had already packed up his swag, and was sitting in a chair reading, when I appeared. “Oh man, who is the heavy snorer, kept me up most of the night,” I commented, as I stretched, “That would have been me, sorry about that,” came a reply from one of the tents and it sounded like Will. Once we were all up and packed up, we headed to a caf

Showing him the signs, he said they looked fantastic, and with some strong wire and pliers, with mounting holes already in place, we walked down to the front gate to install the first sign on the gate. Once done, we stood back to admire the sign, before Uncle Nat asked us to stand on either side so he could take a picture, before heading back to the shed, where we screwed the second sign onto the end wall of the shed, near the singe door. The biggest sign Uncle Nat had to drill holes into th

Looking at the river on the map, I checked to see what the distance is from Chapel Reserve in Old Naorlunga down to WM Hunt Reserve near the bowling and tennis clubs, all within the recreation reserve, and it was a distance of 7.4-kilometres. There is one Railway Bridge, a footbridge, a two-lane road bridge and a four-lane main road bridge crossing over the river, with all of them having good clearance under them. From that point on the river narrows considerably and there is alot more trees

Aaron’s 21st birthday party was a huge success, and it ended and the cleanup was all completed an hour before dark, and there were no problems with any gate crashes, or so we thought, until Chris came storming down the stairs, almost knocking over Mrs Fogliani, who was just finishing up and preparing to head home. “Colonel Nat, we have a major problem,” he called out, which brought everyone into the main living room. Chris had his laptop, and he placed it on the coffee table so everyone coul

When we arrived at Port Lincoln Airport, Uncle Nat went ahead to meet the farmer – Peter Drysdale, before introducing him to Aaron and me, and we headed out of the small air terminal to the waiting twin cab vehicle, with uncle Nat sitting in the front passenger seat. “The lease ends on the 1st of July, so I am wondering, if you are interested in allowing me to continue with the lease,” Mr Drysdale asked as he turned onto the highway heading north. “I see no problem with that, but you will ha

“We went for a walk, and had a good look around the place, that is when I remembered about the late lectures, so we headed home to pick up Aaron’s passport for ID, and we caught a taxi here,” I replied. “I see, well while you are both here, I have spoken to our neighbours, and they are happy for us to have a 21st birthday party at lunchtime Saturday week, and most of them accepted the invitation to attend, as have the Harding and Hammond families. I have organised for the temporary fencing t

Patience my friend, you will soon find the answers... Q
-
“Well, I am pleased to say that your mother did the right thing by you, the properties that your late father owned were given to you in his will, and until you were old enough, she had it leased out to a neighbour for the past nine years. All of the income from the lease, after costs have been put into a trust account in your name, which you can access once you, have turned 21. I had not attended the reading of the will, because I was away at the time, I was not aware until recently that you

Have you climbed Mt Cook Buz?

You are jumping ahead of the story, be patient.

Important point: Just in the news today, here in Western Australia three people have died in just over a period of a week, on the slopes of Mount Augustus, so it is very important to make sure that you are fit enough and fully prepared for the conditions when hiking and climbing... Be Aware and Be Prepared...

Once we had arrived in London, we headed to the YHA Hostel in the city, where I had booked us into a private twin room. Once we had settled in, we went for a walk around the city, before heading the three kilometres to Australia House on the Stand, by cab, to collect Aaron’s new passport. After collecting the new passport, which has a current photo of Aaron, which I took with my phone and forwarded to Uncle Nat, we walked along the Thames River, as far as Northumberland Avenue, until we arri

Aaron has two half brothers Q

“How did you go, in your A level exams?” I asked, “I have no idea, I never got the chance to find out,” Aaron replied. “What subjects did you study?” I asked, “Biology, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, English Literature, Physics, Chemistry and Music,” Aaron replied. “Wow, that is quite a study load, so you must have been fairly good at your studies?” I responded, “I have no idea, Mum never showed me my report cards, once I was in High school and the teachers never said anything goo
