    AP Chapter 21

When the Sunday that the minister came to the Hamlet, I decided not to miss this service, since Florence had been distressed that we missed the last one, and when he arrived late Saturday afternoon, he brought with him a letter address to me, and it was from England. When I opened the letter, I was surprised to see that it was a telegram. “Dear Edwin stop Pa and Beatrice ill stop I am sending Martha on the next ship to South Australia stop travelling with family friends stop ship arrives in

    Holiday

Hello my faithful readers, just letting you know that I am currently in the city of Darwin, in the Northern Territory Of Australia, after completing a three day and two night.experience on the Ghan train from Adelaide in the South to the Northern capital of Darwin, which is a 2720 kilometre journey. Saw some incredible sights, and I hope to include my experiences in future stories. The Ghan train had a total of two engines and 38 carriages and it was 902 metres long. Regards Preston, aka Quokka

“Apples. These are a nice treat. I haven’t had one of these for a few months,” I said before biting into it and munching away at the delicious fruit. “Florence bought some on Monday, along with some lemons and oranges. She hopes to use the seeds to grow some fruit, so save any seeds that you may have,” Archie said to us. “I think we can all squeeze into the buggy, so we can rest our feet for a while, and just slowly push the stock forward,” I announced, and my cousins were pleased to hea

    AP Chapter 19

In the next three weeks, the O’Grady house in the hamlet was built, and they moved into their new home as soon as it was complete. Also, in that time, the well, water tank, windmill and sheep yards were completed, ready to move the sheep to the new paddocks as soon as the internal fences were completed, with a start being made on the first five paddocks with the lower internal fence going west to east. The other development was in the hamlet, where Augustus had laid steel piping from the wat

When I stepped out of the TRA building, holding my new driver’s license, I found both Afya and Jabali waiting for me, standing next to a brand-new Toyota FJ Cruiser vehicle. “Congratulations, your parents organised for the purchase of this as your first car” Afya announced to me and handed over the keys. “It is great to drive, I collected it from the Arusha dealership this morning” Jabari added. The three-hour long journey home was very nerve wrecking, having to drive a brand-new car for su

    Surv Chapter 18

When the rescue stretcher arrived, I was placed into it, covered with a blanket and strapped in, before a team of rescuers slowly lowered me down the slope, just as I heard a helicopter approaching the area, and it landed on the beach about 400 metres away. While this was being done, Will packed up all our gear, and with the help of the rescuers, he was also brought down the slope, along with our backpacks, and we were soon strapped into the back of the helicopter and on our way to Hobart.

The next morning we had sunshine, which was a nice surprise, but off in the horizon, there looked to be a large storm approaching, so we had a quick breakfast, packed up and set off on our second last day of our expedition, but the weather did not hold, as shortly after restarting from a lunch break, the rain came down in bucket loads, and there was even thunder and lightning, which I was not too keen on being caught in the middle of, as we trekked through a rough track, which was very muddy in

Once we were off the ferry at Devonport, we started to look for ways to get to Port Davey, which was one thing that we had overlooked, not realising that it is a remote area. After some searching, we learnt that there is a bus service from Devonport to Derwent Bridge, via Queenstown, which will take over seven hours, which we were not too keen on, and we eventually found a charter bus company, that can get us from Devonport to Port Davey in 5 ½ hours, and we decided to take that option. Surv Chapter 15

“By the way Bailey is here too, he was just putting on some shoes in the car, and probably went back to reading his book” Chris said to me, as we prepared to carry the tray into the lounge area, and Uncle Nat had already retrieved the dining chairs, so everyone could sit. “Good evening Colonel Hammond” I said to the base CO, “Good evening Corporal, this is my son Will Hammond. Son, these boys are Chris Harding, and Jacob Blackwood, and that is Bailey Harding” the Colonel said making the intr
