The following morning, we arrived at the airport with half an hour to spare, so we just sat and relaxed, watching people pass by to board their flights to different parts of the country, when we went to board our flight, Sam had the tickets, and we boarded our flight for the short journey to Port Lincoln. Sam had just and overnight bag, while Hugh and I had all our luggage from since travelling to Canada and back. At Port Lincoln Airport, Bryce and Tom were both there to collect us, and after pa

“Dr, this is a good friend of Gres, from Alberta Canada. Hugh Lindeman, who arrived at Brisbane International Airport at 7.15 this morning, after a 15-hour flight from Vancouver, I activated a plan to try and help Gres, involving getting Hugh here to spend time with him, and he was already on his way when Gres had his little melt down yesterday” Sam said, “That is interesting, there must be a strong connection between the two of you, if he sensed something at the exact time that you stepped foot

Hi Paul and Readers Sorry, but this story only goes as far as 39 chapters, which will be about 95,350 words in total. Yes, as I had posted on my blog, a few weeks ago, the next story to begin posting very shortly, will be Book three of New Beginnings, titled "A New Chapter", which is 14 chapters long, and has just finished going through editing. My editor is about to start editing on another old story - "A Farm Life", which a few readers have requested. Regards Preston

At the time that Gres was having his little mishap in the bathroom, after a long hot shower, Hugh was on an Air Canada flight from Vancouver to Brisbane, currently somewhere over the Pacific Ocean, and he had no idea of the surprise that would be brought to him mid-afternoon the following day. When I woke up at 7.15am the next morning, I was still holding the card that Sam had left me while I was asleep yesterday, I looked at the clock on the cabinet and noting the time, I wondered why I had

“Will you be coming home soon Dad” Tom asked me as I felt sleepy again and I yawned as I nodded my head yes, hoping it would be soon. When I woke up next, I no longer had any wires or tubes connected to me, which I knew was a good sign to recovery, and a nurse came in with a breakfast tray. “Good morning Gres, from what I see you had a good night last night, no signs of seizures, and when the doctor checked you last night he was happy with your progress” the nurse said to me as she placed t

“Well it’s a bit of a long story, how I got here, but about 7 hours after landing in Vancouver, we were in a nasty car accident, apparently I have been unconscious for over 5 weeks” I said to Sam softly, “Oh, so that’s why we haven’t been able to find you, when you didn’t come home I reported you missing to the police, and they traced your movements, up until you withdrew a lot of money on Monday afternoon in Adelaide, then you seemed to vanish. We never thought about checking to see if you had

With the short amount of time before boarding the Canadian flight, the lads took me to some Airport Duty free shops, where they helped me to by some northern hemisphere winter clothing, with the remaining amount of cash I still had on me. I had not used my credit card since withdrawing $8,000 cash in Adelaide, with all my flight purchases being made by cash. After all the clothes shopping in at Tokyo Airport, I only had $600 cash remaining, hopefully enough till we get to Alberta. The Lads h

“This is certainly a very big house you have here” Mrs. Atherton said as she stepped off the veranda and looked around the house and garden. “Yes, it was built in kit form, transported here by barge, lowered down the central hole, and put together inside, please feel free to have a good look around” I stated to her. Mrs. Atherton headed in the direction of the kitchen, she checked each of the rooms downstairs with great detail, before making her way upstairs, where she poked her head into th

When we arrived home, Bryce and I walked to the north end of the island, to see how the work progress was going, and I pleased to see that the support posts and struts were all completed, and that they had started on the first linking boardwalk towards the first of the new tent platforms. I told Jacob, Tom and Ethan that they would be going with Bryce in the barge, to Port Lincoln after lunch tomorrow, to help pick up some new purchases, as there was a lot to bring back. I headed back to the hou

Bryce smiled at me, “I think we will need to set some procedures for those radios, when we are all together tonight” he suggested, and I agreed with him, “Good job on the presentation in the Eco tents today, I was very impressed when I saw them today, well done” I said to Bryce cheerfully, “Thanks boss” he replied with a cheeky grin. Half an hour later, Tom, Ethan and Jacob appeared still in uniform, “We are going to do the sunset check on guests now” Tom said to me as they headed towards the do

“I might be able to make up a sort of rail system from the beach to the gazebo, a timber track, with one carriage going up and down the track on a counterweight system” Jack suggested, “Yes that sounds perfect if you can manage that” I said to Jack who smiled before heading up to help his sons with the southern extensions to the boardwalk. “After lunch, I think we all need to go up and help jack and his boys with the boardwalk” I said to everyone in the room after a long silence, and the boys sa

We caught the early morning flight to Adelaide the next morning, and the first thing we did was go to a uniform business to select an ideal uniform for us, and after much discussions, we eventually chose long black shorts, and a khaki colored cotton drill shirt, which has front pockets, and a logo to be embroided above the left pocket. After some more discussions, we chose – “Louth Island Retreat - South Australia” in a half downward arch, with our first name under it. Once this was done, we

We do have Eco Camping cabins in Australia. One of the best is Swell Lodge on Christmas Island, and Karijini Eco Camping in Northern Western Australia

The boys went and retrieved Tom’s laptop computer, and sat around the dining table discussing ideas while I wanted to ask Bryce a question. “Since Tom had been having a difficult time lately, with bad things happening, I have come to the decision to not return him back to his normal school, but instead enroll him into distance education – home schooling, and I was wondering since you are hanging around with us for a while, if you would like Ethan to do the same” I said to Bryce cautiously, and I

“Upstairs, uncle and I have our own master bedrooms, and there are 4 guest bedrooms with two shared bathrooms, at the top of the stairs above us is a large library and study areas, the same size as this open living area” Tom added. “If you like, you can go up those stairs to the right, and the first four doors on your right are the guest bedrooms, so you can choose which room you all would like” I said, and our guests grabbed their luggage and went upstairs. Tom grabbed his and my luggage an

When we arrived in Sydney, we checked into the hotel and once we had settled in, I told Tom the news of Boston Island being for sale, and that Sam was going to organize for me to purchase it, I let him know that the island is 2,400 acres in area, which is just over 7 times bigger than Louth Island, and that it has a number of sheds, wells, windmills, a weatherboard cottage and some water tanks, which I had learnt about from looking it up online. While Tom watched a movie on television, I s

“Hi Gres, I just finished talking with Sam, you didn’t tell me that he was now a Federal Magistrate, anyway as I said to Sam, once they had set up camp at the gazebo, they went for a bit of a walk for an hour then returned to camp’ Jack reported to me. “Ok Jack, you can tell me all the details when I come to the island, I will see you then” I said ending the call. The following morning, Tom didn’t wake up and get ready for school on time like he usually does, going to his room, I found Tom

After we had eaten at the café, Sam suggested that we go and see a musical at the theatre, and I thought it would be a perfect time to educate Tom with musical theatre, and so Sam made a quick phone call to secure three tickets for this evenings show. Once that was done, we dropped off Sam at his place so he could get ready, and we went back to the hotel to do the same, and two hours later we arrived at the theatre, dressed in our best looking forward to tonight’s entertainment.
