I find those adults who answer a child's questions and don't make them feel like 'pests', are often remembered with great affection. Children are often brimming with curiosity and Merrick was no different. The difference is that Merrick's affection turned in to something more. The session under the tree did come to a screeching halt with Merrick's willingness to be bitten. With Landin, I agree that the smaller opponent is usually not given due respect. In this case, Merrick already told Tei that Landin was very skilled. It's his fault for underestimating his opponent. I think you're right about Jenson. It's one thing for him to deny sex, but how will he deal with the thought of losing love? Merrick is very good at keeping Jenson off balance. I would imagine the world of dignitaries and diplomats is a relatively small one, no matter the species, so most people would at least be acquainted with one another, even if they weren't friends. The person that inspired these words is a very lucky man. I have nothing to say that will do these justice but they were simply beautiful.

I really loved Nate's POV. He is such a sweet kid. His confusion over old crushes, new crushes, first kisses, friendships and betrayals was realistically done. It was so sweet to read how he processed the differences in his feelings towards Josh and Bodie. I think that even if Nate and Bodie decide they are better as friends they will be lifelong friends. The boxcutter section was hard to read, because of the research you know he had to do about how to use them properly and how he decided not to use the boxcutter because his mom hated the sight of blood. It was heartbreaking to know how prepared he actually was. As always you have done a wonderful job of getting in to someone's head and making us care even more for them. Nate and Bodie's interest in each other is so obvious to people watching them that I wonder what their reception will be like in school? Does Nate play hockey? Because if he does they would truly be K & Ms mini-mes lol Oh and Bodie's reaction when he looked and Michael and realized he was getting a sneak peak at what Nate was going to look like in a few years? Priceless!

I'm so happy to catch up with this story again. I've missed it. Mark is a good dad. I wish I could say that Matthew has two good parents, but Jackie is being very selfish for some inexplicable reason. I wonder if there is more to her story than we realize?
