I ordered a new couch for the family room yesterday. It's huge... a sectional 170 inches long on the long side, and 100 inches on the short side. I ordered it from Cozy, a Canadian company, and it's a unique, deep, darkish, sage green in chenille fabric, so it looks kind of velvety. Lots of room for Cookie and me.

Good question, NewEnglander. As a writer, I don't ever want to overdo something, but if it makes sense then I usually see a way. Bearpaw was an organic story that continued the Sidewinder/Larkspur series, and always felt right with its tenuous connection (through Lucas's one-time love for Boone... and the fact Larkspur was where Jubal was headed) to the first two. I do see other possibilities, and I am constantly rolling them over in my head. So I guess the long winded answer is... maybe.

Hey, Bill! Marilyn especially was a frustrating character for sure. In Canada we have a lot of 'hockey moms' and dads, and of course America does too. The fact is there are golden children, whether they are in entertainment or sports or something else. Marilyn got caught up in the prestige two over achieving children gave her, and Blake got lost in the shuffle. It's a shame, but also revealing that Blake has zero animosity towards his siblings. He doesn't resent their success, but he just made a big splash and is coming out from their shadow. He is also coming into his own, knowing who he is and what he wants. At some point, I hope his parents feel some shame for letting their youngest feel less important. It's unforgivable, but Blake won't hold a grudge. I wrote three stories for this anthology, all completely different, and had the best time doing it. In fact, I wrote my very first Old West Story for this antho, and that got me started on exploring the genre more. So happy you found this one romantic, my friend... it's mostly what I do. And no, I never did write a follow up. Too many stories in my head. Thanks so much for this. Cheers! Gary
