Hey, Albert. We are under a snowfall warning for this afternoon/evening until tomorrow late afternoon. So much snow!

... and hot air too...

This was me yesterday.

It was important for me to have Kema live on in some way. Piecing a story together is really important, and it takes a lot of research, attention to detail, and patience most of all. As authors, we have to hold stuff back till the right moment, and that was the right moment to learn about Bean's pregnancy. The wildings too, had such great importance. They were always a part of the dream, from that first wagon ride on the south rode. Lost and found. I had to handle a barrage of wishes for Reid's story to be told after this one, but I always intended us to know his fate in this story. William Senior was a breath of fresh air to write, a father who loves his son unconditionally, even back in those times. Bearpaw is a favorite of mine too, Albert, and I thank you for all your support. Cheers!

No, not at all. We've had way less snow for every one of the past twenty years. This is way beyond normal. I'm used to seeing grass in Dec/Jan/Feb. I don't live in the Arctic.

Thanks, Albert! I loved writing Jubal the way he is now, the way he is without carrying a bunch of fear. The fact he badgers Reid on the ride to town shows just how comfortable he is in his new life. Lucas and him have something special, and he knows it. Billy and Reid? Well, Reid seems a mite touchy on the subject. Cheers, my friend.

I love hearing about your team, Mark, and so pleased to hear @impunity is on it. As a frequent commenter on both sagas, I always loved reading her comments on each chapter and can see her being perfect in the role. Thanks for this.

Sigh. I couldn't agree more, buddy. This one makes me so happy. As a writer, I'm always pleased and relieved when I get to reveal what I've known all along. Jubal has been through some stuff, but I think Vincent gave him strength in their time together. I've read this twice in the last couple of days, and it still rewards me with all the good feels. Jubal knows his stuff, and he's fast at it too, so he could make a good living building I suspect. Lucas loves everything he did. I agree there was hope in this chapter. Who knows what is to come. You never know with wild horses, but I do know bands would go on circuits, revisiting old territory each year. Thanks, Albert!

Thank you, Albert. I have to say this was a very satisfying chapter for me to write. Jubal needed this trip to new land, and he needed to be doing something to keep his mind busy. There was sadness for sure, but life was harsh back then, and newborn animals were vulnerable to predators. Jubal has made the herd safer... wolves tend to move off when they lose pack members, and look for safer grounds. Cheers, my friend.

This was a chapter filled with awkwardness. Poor Jubal. Nothing went the way he'd hoped, and we see just how inexperienced he is at socializing. Could he have been more open with Lucas? Sure, but he was dealing with a lot, and I think Lucas will see that if he doesn't already. Thanks, Albert!

Yeah, the work he did on the loft and stairs is how he can let his feelings for Lucas out. Building is his love language if you will. Thanks for the kind words, buddy.
