  1. I had sliced, grilled chicken breast with onions and mushrooms in my own tomato-based salsa sauce... and broccoli and cauliflower. I cooked enough for two more meals, and the chicken and spices get tastier as it sits. I also has a small glass of my new Pinot Noir. That stuff is amazing.
  2. A new poem... https://gayauthors.org/story/headstall/headstallsreflections/89
  3. Mockery Age, it creeps like an oily, well-fueled fungus Unrelenting in its mocking determination To thwart all pleasures of this moldy, old cuss And ensure my eventual termination It affects from without, and absorbs from within Stealing satisfaction we thought we owned And invading our minds with a numbing din Where once our skills and thoughts were honed There is no joy in tracing veins beneath skin Or rinsing blanch
  4. Okay. How are things with you. B?
  5. It was sooo sad...
  6. Hi, Terry. Yes it is indeed. I have found a new favorite. I don't drink much or often, but I really enjoy a good red.
  7. Yes, you could, but it might be too late... I opened the Pinot Noir... it is an Ontario wine, and is remarkable. Fruity, full-bodied, and delicious. YUM! I wasn't expecting it to be this good. I'm having some old cheddar with it, and I don't care that I am drinking alone.
  8. Hey, PBax! It's great to be brought back to this story by your comment. I'm happy to hear you stuck with it, and found it satisfying in the end. Yeah, the beginning is not sunshine and lollipops, so I understand what you're saying. I'm also happy you think the story has heart... I do too. I've got lots of stories in my catalogue to read, so take your pick. Hope I hear from you again soon. If you're looking for something on the shorter side, Might I suggest "Boundaries: An Old West Tale"? It is only four chapters long, but I think it delivers. Cheers and thanks... Gary....
  9. Debating whether to have a glass of Pinot Noir. Hmmmm... I've been stressed lately, but it's weird to drink alone. I also have a nice Argentinian Malbec.
  10. That sounds like the Drewth to me.
  11. I finished reading "Larkspur: A Sidewinder's Tale" today. Or should I say reread. Is it weird I can get such enjoyment from my own work, because I really did enjoy it?
  12. Thanks, Tony! Same to you. Maybe someday I will surprise you and there will be a nice big, tidy bow on this one.
  13. Happy Wednesday, all!
  14. Hi, Terry! Thank you to you and @Albert1434 for posting some of my stories on the 'First Love Readers' Poll' list... I truly appreciate such support and love for my babies... my stories. You guys are the best!
  15. Lol. Yeah, lots of drama in this chapter. This began a nerve-wracking adventure for me, a brand spanking new writer, and for the readers who responded with incredible support. I learned a lot about the craft as this story unfolded, and I hope you like my efforts. I hold this story dearly in my heart. Cheers, and I hope you keep sharing your thoughts with me. Gary....
  16. And the giant super flies.
  17. Also comes with a bug zapper.
  18. Exactly! And that kitten looks my littlest one. She loves me. They only difference is I have seven cats walking in front of me.
  19. I had my basement floor poured this morning. They came at seven and are still working on it, doing the finishing troweling. It looks amazing. It is the section under my geranium/sunroom that will now be my son's weight room/gym.
