    Finally done with the floor for the day. What a long day it was. Hope y'all are well.

    I spent the day repairing a pine floor after taking out a built in wall unit. It's all done with two coats of polyurethane... one more coat at about nine or ten and I'm done for the day.

    Hey, Terry. I have a poinsettia from last Christmas that is now all green, but beautiful. It sits in the middle of the island under the lights, and makes me happy. I feed it cold herbal tea.

    I spent the first couple of years being incognito, reading stories and leaving. Then I joined and spent the next couple of years commenting and leaving reviews for just about everyone. Then I started writing, and the support was shocking to me. I've never looked back, but I've had dry periods too... some due to injury and illness and some due to depression. People understand here. We aren't machines.

    I do understand. I had to stop reading a very good story once, written by someone I really respect, but I was having nightmares from my childhood, so I put the story in the freezer. You engage in a story, and that's all we authors could want.

    Thanks Patrick. There is a wonderful community here at GA. I've learned a lot in my time here, and writing has enabled me to drop walls and learn a lot about myself. There is a piece of me in everything I write, and sometimes I get surprised. So yeah, my stories are meaningful to me, and it has been a revelation that they are meaningful to others. It can be a humbling experience to find something like this so much later in life. I have always been creative, and writing, both poetry and prose, gives me another outlet.

    Thanks, Patrick! Nice to meet you. One of the surprising things to me about writing is that I can go back to a story I've written again and again, and fall right back into it as a reader. I didn't expect I would want to read my own stuff once I finished, but it couldn't be farther from the truth. I think this is where authenticity plays a part. I write for me as well as others, and my characters feel very real to me. Appreciate the kind words, my friend. G.

    Thank you! I have no desire to write about sex without love. That's not a slight to other writers who make their own choices... to be authentic I must be true to myself.

    I'm glad we agree. I've been lucky to have found great love in the past, but I refuse to give up on finding it again.

    I can't ask for more than this, my friend. Thank you so much. You encourage me to stay the course. And I agree these two men are made for each other. Arron's battle with himself was challenging and rewarding both, and something I still feel pride in. Cheers! Gary....
