  1. Tomorrow. I'll screw tomorrow.
  2. Native Texans The Apache. The Apache inhabited areas from the state of New Mexico to the rivers Medina, Red, and Lower Colorado. ... Coahuiltecan Tribes. ... Jumano. ... Atakapa Ishak. ... Caddo. ... Tonkawa. ... Karankawas. ... Kiowa and Kiowa Apache.
  3. Drove half an hour for screws before the store closed at 4, and I forgot my wallet. Luckily I had a pill bottle with twonies and loonies in it and I had enough... with 40 cents to spare.
  4. Thanks, Chris! I love being brought back to my stories, and I just reread this in it's entirety. That empathy they shared is because they have had the same journey over the past year. I have found it easier to talk about my departed mom with people who have lost theirs, and I thought that would be the case for Paul and Woodrow. Grief is powerful... present even in animals... and the sharing of it can ease the process some. In this case, it surely did. Are they ready to start something new? I would say yes, to start, and if it takes more time so be it, but they can still build something special and lasting while they finish healing together. I agree this story needs no continuation. Their sentimental journey found an unexpected destination, and now it is up to them to allow life to happen. Thank you for reading, and for the very kind words. I'm pleased this story was received so well. Cheers! Gary....
  5. Happy Sunday, all!
  6. Thanks, clo. I want them all to have memories like yours every year... like 'remember that first Christmas after Dad put in the fireplace'
  7. Lol... I just want to make Christmas more special. We used to have a wood burning fireplace at my mom's house and I have great memories of those Christmases. I took out my two wood stoves years ago, but I miss the look of the flames. The new electric fireplaces are pretty cool, so hopefully I'll be happy with the one I bought. Someday I might put in a gas one in the living room... it has the perfect spot on an outside wall.
  8. No. I finished up the nailing and put another coat of stain on the beams. I'm done for the day... I think....
  9. I had about twenty nails to go and my nailgun battery died. Oh well... I can do other stuff while it recharges. Hey, Clo.
  10. @Albert1434 Hope all is well. Be safe and have the best time, buddy.
  11. @dughlas Is this the last weekend for the faire? Hope you and Mum are well.
  12. Thanks, bro... my 60 inch electric fireplace arrived this morning.
  13. Happy Saturday, all! Should get around to installing beams today.
  14. I still have cherry tomatoes on my plants. I haven't eaten any for weeks because they are small.
  15. Happy Friday, all.
  16. Hey, B. Only 4C here today, but sunny. Should reach 10C this afternoon.
  17. Oh, I have plenty of regrets, but none that haunt me. I have come out the other side, thanks to someone who gave me everything.
  18. Appreciate it, buddy. I sighed contently right now too. Thanks for reading so much of my work. I am itching to write again, but am in the midst of some renovations, and am usually pretty exhausted by the end of the day. Thanks for the kind words and the support. Cheers... Gary....
  19. Thanks, Doha! I am pleased to hear that. I think we all wanted to see Chet happy after meeting him in CotT.
  20. I ride horses... it is my passion... and that old adage is true in love too. We need to get back in the saddle when we come off. It might take time to be ready, but giving up could be depriving another person of their happiness as well as yours. Keep trying, my friend. I found something in my mid fifties that repaired so much in me, and I wouldn't change that for anything. It was my choice not to move far away from my kids, and as much as it hurts, I don't wallow in regret. Love is beautiful.
  21. That is very kind of you. I have felt things deeply my whole life, which gives fuel to a lot of pain, but I have come to believe it gives depth to my writing. At least, I hope so. Anyway, I write what I feel, and so far it seems to resonate with some readers. I am thankful for that.
  22. Thank you, my friend. I write for many reasons, but it is the connections readers have with my work that makes me happiest.
