  1. Hello, all. Another busy day for me.

    Chapter 47

Very descriptive work here, Albert. I admit I was confused about the timeline... they had a date, and then he got a haircut and went shopping to get ready for their date? What am I missing? Cheers!
  3. Tree down! Now I have to rebuild the back wall of the barn where the siding rotted because of a pile of wood against it. Fun times....
  4. Hello, all! Tree guy is coming today to cut down another big tree which is close to my son's StarLink tower.
  5. I did love the old westerns, and I guess mostly because of the horses. Gary Cooper was a beautiful man. Loved his voice. I don't believe I was named after anyone. I remember my mom said she was the one who chose my name, and it was because she'd always liked it. When I first started writing, I never thought of writing a western. "Finding Refuge", an entry for the Rewind anthology, was what opened that door for me. It took a while before I wrote another, and now I guess it has become a comfortable niche for me. Happy to hear you enjoyed this one, Gary. Thanks for taking the time to read and leave a comment. Much appreciated.
  6. I know it has its uses, but it is used for writing fiction, and I think that is wrong. Very wrong.
  7. It's a calling, and I'm sure you are great at it.

    Chapter 46

I love being in a hot tub when it's raining or snowing, and I'd kill for their studio... heck... their life too... it sounds pretty amazing. Thanks, Albert!
  9. Hello, folks! Yesterday I spent 7 hours building a 'cat house' for the back veranda. I made it out of insulated, double paned wooden windows that are five feet tall. I screwed three of them in a U shape, and attached them to a base with a cat-door opening in it, put on a solid top, and built three shelves inside(they can hop easily from one to the next) that have my three saddle pads put on them. Should be toasty for them. It's open at the back for easy cleaning, but slides up against the wall of the house for a tight, draft free fit. Very pleased with myself. Oh, and the two cats love it, though when someone walks by they run out of it.
  10. Snowing here. Hello, all, and appreciation to all veterans.

    Chapter 45

    Making memories.
  12. Thanks. Sounds interesting.
  13. Yesterday I hung two 150 year old doors to divide my tack room from my barn. So much work. I had to reframe everything and trim down the sides and bottom of the doors. It was something I started probably twenty years ago, but never got done. The doors have been leaning against the wall and mocking me this whole time. My tack room will become the garbage and recycling room since I don't need it for tack anymore. It has a door to the outside, so it will be very convenient.
  14. G'day, people... and others.
  15. Blame Alaska. Hope you get relief soon. Hi, Mum!
  16. Greetings to the unwashed masses.
  17. Thank you, Frank! It's been three years since a comment has brought me back to this story. It's always been a favorite of mine, but I have written a lot more stories since, including an entry in the recent anthology. I have also written four multi-chapter westerns which have been extremely popular. I hope you will check them out, and I'm pleased to hear I am up there with your favorite writers. Thanks again, friend, and please remember that we authors love getting Story Reviews in the Review section. They tend to bring new readers. Cheers! Gary....
