    The writing was excellent, Cassie, as per usual, but man, this was dark with a capital D. Somehow you managed to make the twist matter-of-fact as the truth was revealed, and that made it much more creepy, but palatable to this reader. Kudos to you... is it dark for me to say I enjoyed this?

    It's been raining for hours... stopped now, but I'm praying it starts up again. My grass has never been so brown, and apparently people are having their wells collapse because of how dry it is. Farmers are trucking in water to give their stock.
