Not sure if you can see it, but this is the image tim posted. Hmm... I copied it, and it showed until I saved it. Another sure why.

I hadn’t thought of that possibility. Fingers crossed, we don’t lose power. 🤞

It worked. Now, the pronunciation clue makes sense.
-
I tried that once and it worked, but only that one time. Maybe, I’ll give it another go.

This is spooky timing, because just yesterday the word hermaphrodite popped into my head. Cool looking bird, though.
-
@Mikiesboy It is, but I’m tripping over the pronunciation clue even though it’s right in front of me.

It is indeed. You’re not the only one staying home. I couldn’t resist after waking up at 2:30 feeling crap creeping at my door. Looking outside, the traffic is really light, so I think a lot of people are staying put. Course, there have to be idiots out there, and one of them just went speeding (not exaggerating in the slightest *sigh*) down the road because there was no traffic in his way. Hope he doesn’t cause an accident...

Came across this rule - broken, of course - yesterday in a book I’m reading. Sometimes, you have to go with what sounds right over what is right. Something else I learned yesterday: de·fen·es·tra·tion /dēˌfenəˈstrāSHən/ noun 1. FORMAL•HUMOROUS the action of throwing someone out of a window. Who knew there was a word for this? Weird...

My eyes are telling me to step away from the keyboard. I’m going to listen to them, so I’ll see you all later...

If anyone is wondering - yes, showing my nerd side again - this is the swinging lady I was referring to in a previous post. Always, always took note of her every time an passed by there as a kid. The one thing I do remember is it took forever for her to be modernized. She looked like she was from the 50s (maybe 60s) well into the 80s when someone finally realized she wasn’t keeping up with the times.

@Mikiesboy For all of my childhood and up to the late 90s, family holidays were spent in the Eg and Kennedy area. I remember certain landmarks on the drive there from the DVP. One was the lady on a swing as part of an advertisement for a car dealership - I think that’s what it was for. The other was the Golden Mile sign. I never knew it represented something until, out of the blue, my mom said what it was about. Bit nerdy, but I think it’s cool. Found this on wiki https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Mile,_Toronto

If I’d known, I would have waved. Course, I probably wouldn’t have seen you through all that snow on Monday, and Sunday, well, you were done for the day.

Just before I moved to Toronto, the Sheppard subway was being built. I didn’t venture past Yonge Street, but the view east from there was awful. So glad it was all done by my move in date. It’s very nice being able to get to Fairview Mall in 10 minutes with just three stops in between the first and final stations rather than driving or busing it. I was on Eglington (DVP to Kennedy) Sunday and Monday of last week. It was a complete mess as far as driving goes, which made me very glad, I wasn’t the one driving. It actually surprised me, then I remembered they’re building the Eglington subway line. At least, I think that’s what it was...

I quoted Parker, because he’s exactly right. There is a strong draw to read through to the end. Pausing is impossible, because we are right there with Dom and sub (yet not quite His sub, because I’m thinking the relationship is to new to be a sure thing?) needing to know that all is, and will be, well for them both.

@mad_artist Your poems are wonderful. If you have or want to say more, I’d happily read your words. Having said that, doing what makes you happy and fulfilled is what’s most important.

I’ve never heard that. Hmm...

So it’s not just me. I thought I was imagining it.
