hi rick ... been dealing with some drama at work. fingers crossed that by the time we have our employee appreciation celebration on Friday afternoon it will be done and dusted it's not ideal, it hasn't been and won't be pretty. but it will be over for myself, i've been going to the office 2 days a week and i have found i missed it @kbois, so who won the bet?

sometimes, words come in the quiet in the quiet i can hear my thoughts i can hear the dogs breathe, my own breathing slows, becomes deeper the sound of the fans, the house settling the small, simple sounds of the clock ticking the squirrels running on the roof in the quiet i remember i remember bad decisions and good ones the stories from years past roll like movies through my memory when life was slower, less urgent in the quiet i wonder i wonder about her, is she really doing well or just saying what she thinks i want to hear? how are you? really? is his heartbreak going to heal? will we be able to retire? in the quiet i also find calm no one's asking for anything, needing anything i can just be process the memories, work through the doubts, recall the love in the quiet i can hear your voice, your calming words see your face, find peace i can move beyond the past, put it away think about the future in the quiet i can start over be renewed i know we're all busy, so thanks for taking the time to read

@kbois try helping him script it out, writing out those things he should ask. maybe have him practice, roll play it with him. then give him a token, something he can hold on to physically, that can connect him to you. we used to do this with a thimble. it's what Wendy gave Peter calling it a kiss. good luck mama!

it's always messed with me the fact that it gets dark so damn early, it affects my mood and my internal clock is off. i was at my desk working and it was getting dark and i thought i had worked way past 5. it's also harder to use the grill for cooking, it's just so dark. i'm with you about doing away with this whole thing! pick one, standard or daylight and stay there.

as if the robo calls for credit cards, extended warranties for my car & all of the political ones weren't bad enough NOW i'm getting them about open enrollment for health insurance OMG! make it stop and breathing.............
