  1. It was the first time Luke had been in a car in nearly twenty years, and he had to admit that he was more than a little motion sick. Still the trip was short, and it pulled up to the curb and let them out for a breath of fresh air after only a few minutes. They could have walked the distance just as easily, but when Hayden had heard that there was the opportunity of taking a vehicle instead, he had jumped at the chance. As Luke recovered from his nausea, he looked at his husband and found hi
  2. “So, tell me more about this Elven maiden you left behind on Avalon,” Peter said with a grin. He was starting to get comfortable and he could sense that Nurim was doing the same. He hoped that now that things had been settled between them that Nurim would start to open up. The door opened suddenly and Peter spun around to see the large guard entering before shutting the door quietly behind him. “What’s going on?” Peter asked as he stood and faced the guard. “There are enemies in the mans
  3. There was a fireplace in the room, and finally Tristan felt like he was at home. He had grown up around campfires, moving from place to place as he did with his brothers, and hadn’t realized how much he had missed the feeling of sleeping near a flame. Micah seemed to enjoy it just as much, though Tristan had realized some time ago that Micah was comfortable in nearly every setting, especially if they were together. Tristan pulled Micah close, their entwining his naked legs with those of his

    Chapter 12

I wish I could say that it wasn't timely. This past week has brought my own mind back to this story as well, and especially to Chris. He'd never denounce his parents, which is what they require children of same-sex marriages to do now, and so he'd definitely leave the church now. And he'd be so upset at the bigotry, and the ignorance... I normally see my characters as ghosts, but recently Chris has been as alive as anyone ever has. This new policy would also make Gary leave the church. It's a sad, sad reality. Thank you for the review. I'm glad the story stuck with you, even if it was brought back to you by such unfortunate news.

    Episode 1: Enemies

I hope you've read on by now to address some of your fears.
  6. Thank you for the compliments. I'm glad you found the description fitting, and that your imagination was able to fill in the framework. I'm also glad to see you understand why I included the darkness. I hope it helps you prepare for Season Two, which is already posting. There's more darkness ahead, but some nice moments too. Thank you for the review.

    Chapter 11 - Reunion

There definitely is a lot which happens in this chapter, but it is the chapter leading up to the final conflict, so I thought I put you on the right track. Sorry about Kurt, but he was also the one fated to face Faust, because of their background. I've been trying to lead up to it for most of the story, though I don't think anyone expected me to actually go through with it. Anyway, glad you liked Zach, and thank you for the review!
  8. Thank you, MGK. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Ethan was always supposed to be my Dr. Frankenstein, though he is sane now... mostly. Thank you for the review!
  9. I hope the reread has kept you busy during my time away. While I respect that many readers found it hard to understand how or why I was willing to kill a character, I feel the need to remind everyone that this story takes place in a war. I didn't aim to create superheroes who couldn't die, I aimed to create as realistic of a world as possible within the boundaries of my own fantasy realm. Death exists for the enemy, and so should it exist for the heroes. My aim, though I could have easily missed the mark time and time again, is to explore the humanity of each moment, even if it is sometimes through the lens of tragedy. Anyway, thank you for the review, as always.
  10. Fire engulfed both of Tristan’s hands as he started toward Finn, his eyes blazing with an intensity that easily matched the flames. Micah growled and jumped to his feet, shifting his hands into claws as he moved up to guard Tristan’s flank. Meanwhile, Ivan raised an eyebrow and looked to Finn who was calmly watching the duo as he stroked his chin thoughtfully. “You know they’re lying to you, right?” Finn said casually as he glanced at Ethan, Luke, and the others. “Jacob Walker was dead long
  11. Luke leaned against the wall in the council room, and then slid down to where Hayden was resting while holding an icepack to his head. Ethan looked up from where he was standing nearby and watching over a sleeping Nevala, who was now wearing one of Peter’s lab coats. “They’re being awfully reckless with us,” Luke observed with a stage whisper, eyeing the pair of guards that were standing by the door. “I wonder why they’re keeping us together.” “Easier to watch, I suppose,” Ethan said as he l
  12. There was only one more direction to go, and Jacob was beginning to get frustrated, but as soon as he headed toward the east he sensed a human not far from the complex, and it was heading toward him. Without any further hesitation, he traveled the rest of the distance toward the human and popped into view in front of Zach, his excitement getting the better of him. Zach stumbled backward as he raised his hands defensively, preparing for a fight, but when he realized that it was Jacob he clutc
  13. Welcome, Taylor. Or torwick, I guess?
  14. How'd you know I'd be reviewing this topic? Haha!
  15. This is the most adorable story I've heard in a long time. It reminds me of Kendall and Michael from Cards on the Table by Headstall. http://www.queerty.com/college-guy-realizes-his-best-friend-might-be-his-boyfriend-in-the-most-adorable-way-possible-20151028?utm_source=bb82&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=artname&ts_pid=2&utm_content=inf_10_80_2
  16. Drew is my spawnling and even I don't know his middle name...
  17. I agree that you did the right thing. It's hard to do things like this because you have to choose between the trust they put in you and helping them. Helping them is always the right answer.
  18. I love this advice.
  19. So, I have a new one from today. I needed to know if Russians designed their bathrooms any differently from how they do here in the US, and so I typed in, "Russian Shower". A) Apparently in the Urban dictionary it means to cover oneself in cheap perfume, and The image search includes, er . . . Russians taking showers. So yeah, I recommend staying away from that one unless that's what you're going for.
  20. All I can do is welcome you to the community, I'm afraid. Which I will do, openly. Good to have you here, Graywolf. I hope you find the advice you're looking for here, and the happiness you're seeking in your life.
  21. The room was cold, despite the fact that the complex in whole was kept reasonably warm with the power thrumming through its wires. It seemed as if The Confederacy had neglected to send more than minimal power to this lonely storeroom that had been converted to serve as his cell. Nurim Khrys understood that he was not exactly a priority, and he also understood why he was being kept prisoner, but that didn’t stop him from longing for the warmth of the Summer Isle, his home of Avalon. Of course
  22. After the defeat of the one of the Icarus Confederacy's enemies, and hurting from the loss of one of their own, the Confederacy returns home to regroup. Despite their need for respite, the war isn't over yet.

    Chapter 1

Thank you, Def. I'm glad it was able to transport you, and that the characters held your interest. I have to admit, there's quite a bit of me in this story, so that might be why it was as emotional as it was. I'm in both Arawn and Sam, and honestly there's probably a part of me which corresponds to the Crow as well. I try to write with my whole self, dark bits included. This one worked that way where others haven't. I'm glad it worked for you, too. Thank you for the review.

    Chapter 1

Thank you, spawnling. I'm glad you liked it, and as for a trick, next year I'm hosting a clothing optional bonfire party for Samhain, and you're totally invited.
